I hope Americans know that we hate FIFA.

No one in Europe is watching that shit show yesterday and is proud that FIFA is gouging your country in some of its darkest days.

FIFA is a code word for greed and corruption.

We are ashamed of it and really fucking sorry 🫶

I’m a university educated, multi-lingual education professional in full-time employment and have lived and worked in 3 countries. I also have ADHD.

There is *no* way I’d be able to navigate the deliberately complex process to get the assistance I would be ENTITLED TO if on a low income.
What I’ve learned:

Healthcare cards auto issue to claimants who get fortnightly max FTB part A based on their income guesstimate.

BUT if you don’t give a guesstimate and only claim in lump sum at EOFY after tax is calculated you have to fill in a 25 page low income healthcare card application

Australia is paying $750m to a US prison company and $2.5bn in a secret deal to Nauru, yet the hundred or so asylum seekers in Nauru are starving.
It’s called corruption, and someone in authority should look into it.

The fines aren't large enough. $140k is nothing to people with multimillion dollar homes. They will gain more than that when they sell thanks to the newly gained view. Council should replant vegetation that will be higher.

“Teals [work] to undermine democracy.” 👀👀👀

…Seriously?

That’s a huge, and disturbingly Trumpian claim from an elected Liberal MP.

Australia deserves better than “Jan-6”-style dog whistles.

Let’s leave Trump-lite politics overseas.

It’s no accident that foreign streaming services do little to promote Australian music and podcasts to Australians…and it’s no accident that our governments have chosen not to do more to fix it. Local content matters more in the digital age than ever

Why your Spotify Wrapped probably doesn’t have any new Australian music on it
If you don't have Australian artists on your Spotify Wrapped, you're not alone - it's the result of a structural, not individual, problem.

The person apologising for failing to pass on the Sydney neo-Nazi rally protest information is the Deputy NSW Police Commisioner.

He was recently the acting NSW Police Commissioner and applied for the top job.

But 3 months ago he was passed over for the Commissioner's job.

Yes, indeed 😎

This is the correct question
There were cops present, watching & listening to the nazis as they broke laws around hate speech & inciting hate. Were they instructed not to intervene .... with bats, pepper spray & arrests .... like they do with climate change or anti genocide protesters??
What instructions were they given ??

“I cannot emphasise enough that what Repacholi says in a few short sentences is both fundamentally absurd, and deeply terrifying in how it flew into the climate space without a single raised eyebrow.” @ketanjoshi.co writes.

Absolutely insane.

Labour would have purged and smeared someone like Zohran Mamdani.

Wes Streeting's politics align far more closely with Andrew Cuomo.

The lessons from Mamdani are about how to defeat both the right - and the bankrupt "centre".
