On BlueSky because Tyrotcm asked me too, still new here, summer 2025.
I overworked myself yesterday to prepare for the 11F /-13C weather we are due to get, but everything went wrong instead.
Electric was out right as I was about to finally sleep, which killed the pc + any act of chores+ self care that I worked so hard for to be able to complete. Super demoralizing

there's lots of awesome history w/ advocacy efforts & actions of ACT UP & historically this was largely gay men. there's other unsung heroes from the earlier era of the AIDS crisis. like sex workers who don't get enough credit around mutual aid, safer sex education/practice & harm reduction. 1/6
today is the 35th annual world AIDS day; a crucial cadre early on in advocacy work is ACT UP; to whom the iconography of pink triangle w/ “silence = death” can be attributed, living by a creed: “actions are always, always, always planned to be dramatic enough to capture public attention.”

I used to not even be able to lift a cup or open water bottle.
On the 1 hand happy I have overcome that, but my safe lifting limit is 3kg/6lbs, not 32kg/70lbs.
www.osha.gov/laws-regs/st... Says 51 pounds for an abled 23kg
And I needed years of physiotherapy as a kid to be able to turn my head etc

As I am carrying up to 32kg/70lbs daily...I really need to be in a place with tap water.
Hypothermia and the severe PEM crash afterwards nearly took ability to walk, move head, hand coordination.
Multi disabled, multi organ injury body doing this just to access water & avoid anaphylaxis & uremia

Just had a stark realization, as I am hand washing items that I will need for below 20F / -5C weather, that + personal needs = equivalent water weight of carrying 32kg/70lbs everyday.
I deal with prednisone bone loss & muscle dystonia from birth etc. Perm damage from less weight than that in past

It's also worth noting that romanticizing the rule of law means adopting a wholly false perspective around what the law is, who it targets, who it privileges, and how it functions—or I suppose it could just be an embrace of that hierarchy, which is also... a problem.

The problem with fetishizing the rule of law is that people have to break the law to resist fascism, state violence, and oppression. This has always been true, and is very much the case RIGHT NOW.

A lot of society is built around teaching people to curb their selfish impulses. These messages can be counterproductive, however, for people who are already radically selfless.

We need more messaging encouraging selfishness among activists in order to reduce burnout rates.

Really getting bummed out that being stuck in this tent constantly exposed all the dirt and the temperature changes and the noise is keeping me too sick to be out there organizing, fighting, feeding people, something.

But I'm struggling just to keep my body going. 😮‍💨🛌

My legs are getting shockingly bad, even compared to the usual.
Swelling, skin is nearly bursting, red/purple/grey, cant move toes anymore .
Worst toe is blue, as swollen in width as it is long. :(
I've had circulation issues for years but this is obviously what happens below 30F, no water or heat.

Please stop making assumptions about how things are based on the idea that the systems we inhabit were created with logic, reason or care.

Instead listen to the folks who are directly affected instead of assuming they're fringe cases because "that just doesnt make sense".

No, it doesnt, and yet...

Due to multi disability & gov human rights abuses I have lived from fundraising for 10y.
As an anarchist I also have a lot of principles, I boycott many companies.
Used to boycott amazon, stopped because it is the cheapest place to order otc meds&herbs.
