“SNAP shouldn’t be some free handout, people need to work to eat” sounds to me like you’ve never truly gone hungry. Like you’ve never put groceries back so you could get soap or medicine. Like you’ve never made hot tea just to feel warmth in your stomach again, trying to suppress how it aches.
