“The media isn’t covering this” is a statement about your own media diet. Yes, I am painfully aware that legacy outlets have the biggest audiences. It is good to criticize their coverage. But I would love to see even a fraction of that energy directed to helping smaller outlets gain bigger audiences

I have not picked up a Batman comic in years, but this image from an upcoming March release is savage af and legitimately gives me a hit of politically satisfying dopamine I've been starved for for a decade, so I might have to grab it.

Seeing Miyazaki's "On Your Mark" music video for the first time. The opening midnight show of Return of the King and all of us silently crying together through the credits. The whole theatre applauding when they saved the dog in Dante's Peak.
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

The difference between humans and AI is not subtle. It's the difference between what holds us together in a collective shared material experience of reality and meaning, and a colonial mind poison built on the backs of environmental destruction and human exploitation.

This is not a fucking game

Someone at a very queer Friendsgiving told me about their upcoming UK Harry Potter excursion. Friends are posting their Spotify wrapped months after the call to drop them for ICE recruitment + AI music. Amazon, Disney, Facebook, meat...it sucks ass that acting value-aligned is hard AND isolating.

Hey YouTube ads? Maybe this, the season of surprise gifting, is the wrong time to show ENDLESS COMMERCIALS FOR EVERY RETAIL SITE AND ITEM I'VE VIEWED THIS MONTH.

This goes for DIY, too. Protect trans kids. Zip your lip.
I worry constantly about anonymous reddit posters asking "Gee guys I want to help out but how are we fighting back against ICE today? Exactly where? What orgs should I know about?" and hundreds of comments just...telling them.

I cannot stress enough:

If you are helping hide kids from ICE

DO NOT POST ON SOCIAL MEDIA ABOUT HOW YOU ARE HELPING KIDS HIDE FROM ICE.

Especially do not describe where and how you helped kids hide from ICE under your own name from a verified account with the STREET AND TOWN!

Good Lord...

"All is lost" narratives are popular because people generally do not want to take action. Taking action is tiring so if all is lost, you are off the hook. Nothing is more seductive than not having to do anything.

More than ever I believe this is simple, petty revenge for the BLM protests in 2020 and getting made fun of for hiding in his bunker. He simultaneously wants to put Black-led cities "in their place," and retroactively paint them as dangerous enough to justify hiding like a startled piglet.
Every single city they've done these operations in have Black mayors. LA, Chicago, Charlotte, New Orleans. 3 of which are Black women. This isn't a coincidence.

Millennials are doing to pop culture what Boomers have done to government. I do believe we're going to see a forward-thinking, progressive shift in the latter, but while fighting the AI enshittification of our media because wealthy, uncreative men in their 40s won't let go of cartoons and Star Wars.

Imagine showing a petrol engine to someone who had only known electric vehicles, and trying to convince them to switch to petrol. No-one would choose the dirty, noisy, less efficient, more expensive vehicle. This isn't 1910, hostage to gender insecurity. We can just choose the better tech.

Weekly reminder that the CDC is blatantly, proactively lying and propogating misinformation on its website. Do not go there. Do not follow their advice.
The CDC is not a viable source of medical advice at this time, under this leadership. This is a sound conclusion based on verifiable data, a concept that's mystifying to RFK.
CDC recommendations are only that. You do not have to fall in line with them (look at 2020 and the tantrums that got us here). There are other sources of info:
- American Medical Association
- American Academy of Family Physicians
- American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology
- IDSA
- AAP

It’s fun to think about the surgeon who will botch your surgery 20 years from now and what he’s doing at this moment. He just ran all his homework through ChatGPT. He just read that article about vaccines and autism at the CDC website. He just watched an Instagram video about the moon landing hoax.

The severity and explicitness of the calls for divisiveness and violence are directly proportional to how much the steady rule of law is threatening him at the moment, always. He's a weak and desperate old man. Don't bail him out by taking the bait.
