The weed number is now 582 due to inflation
![I wish I had the privilege to not be affected by politics and what's happening around me.
Before I came out, I had that privilege. I was living and identifying, at the time, as a cis white heterosexual male. I was an ally, but ultimately I wasn't directly affected by anything. I spoke out, advocated, and supported however I could. Whether it was BLM, Me Too, trans rights, etc. I always did what I could to learn, grow, and be a good human. That's honestly how I learned about myself and came to accept who I am. I remember at the time how curious it was that my voice carried more weight than those actively being impacted. Again, a sign of privilege that I took for granted.
Fast forward a few years to now and I'm the one being impacted by the world. I'm a member of the minority that is currently under siege by hateful rhetoric and policy. I go online and I see members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, my community, screaming and begging for help. To be honest, I'm scared for what's to come.
I've shed my tears and have stayed in stunned silence until now. I know, being in the minority, that my voice won't carry as much weight as it did before.
