On Saints Row we had a debug npc named Skinballs (lol) that was literally just four spheres wrapped in different shades of skin texture so we could test lighting for different skin tones during development. But teams need to plan for that kind of testing with intentionality, and not enough do.

I’ve often wondered how companies always miss the mark and disappoint the overwhelming majority of their customers/audience when you can literally go anywhere on the internet you want and see what people are saying they want and how they feel about your games. It’s perfect for creative feedback. 1/2
