Stop using the language of the rapist.

It is not sex with children, it is rape of children.
It is not underage girls, it is children.
It is not sex trafficking, it is rape trafficking.

After 6,000 people died from whooping cough in 1932, three women stepped forward to find a vaccine. When it was ready for testing in 1934, parents volunteered their children in droves, hoping to protect them from the deadly "100 day cough." Today, the vaccine saves half a million lives a year!

Vaccines are like stealing fire from gods and burning plagues with it. 🎯
Seriously. I sue drug companies, you don't have to tell me they suck, nor explain to me the risks of pharmaceuticals.

But vaccines are different, they're like stealing fire from the Gods and burning plagues with it. Their benefit/risk ratio is downright magical.

The number of deaths averted globally due to vaccination is absolutely staggering.

Fun fact: the immune system is constantly at work, whether there’s a vaccine in there or not. It never rests. Adding a handful of antigens to that is a drop in the bucket. Sincerely yours, 70 Years of Science.

Spotted by Dr. Joe Schwartz of McGill University while perusing scientific journals.
This (via Andrew Gelman via Kevin Drum) is embarrassing and frustrating. It’s good to catch math errors ahead of time.

But there’s a larger point here, which is that the chemical industry is opaque about what’s in consumer products, and it shouldn’t be.

Universal healthcare? No thanks, I don't want to pay for other people's health care. I like private insurance, where I pay for other people's healthcare AND for the salaries of bloodsucking middlemen whose entire purpose is telling me “No” when I need medicine.
