You might question her methods, but credit to Bari Weiss: her leadership has pushed 60 Minutes into new formats and attracted a bunch of new viewership outside the normal broadcast audience.
here's the 60 minutes cecot video part 1 of 5 - recorded/uploaded by and all credit to @jasonparis.bsky.social

I just reduced background noise, chopped the 14 minutes into 3 minute segments each compressed under 100 mb for bsky's limits, cropped and rotated a few degrees for easier viewing on here

Putting out a potentially really stupid question, do forgive me:

I understand the big reasons WHY Netflix/Paramount are bidding for Warner Bros.

What I don't get is why WB - who from everything I'd read had a fairly strong 2025 financially - is going "yeah go ahead, we'd love to be bought out."

Not my own band as my most played song (go stream ‘Wish’ by Cablebox lol)

Also, another year dominated by film scores, this is not shocking, but some of the non-movie omissions are a bit perplexing (no Beatles, Black Country New Road, Florence + The Machine, etc.)

"I have lived through the massacre every day. Our country may forget this history, but I cannot," she told Congress in 2021.

Guillermo del Toro’s FRANKENSTEIN captures the queer virtue of belonging, which no iteration has done before. For @autostraddle.bsky.social, I discussed the queer resilience subtext via the creature’s tale, generational trauma, and familial acceptance.

Sometimes I see posts where people advocate for creative folks or journalists to divest from the larger systems of employment and "start your own!" and I understand the sentiment! But then there's never any discussion of the logistics (which are a *substantial* challenge even for existing entities)

If it’s run for profit, then it’s profiting off of … us.

When I hear that the post office lost money, I think this: Good. We already paid for it. Why on earth should it make even more money from us? Who would keep the money? Would we see it?
I don't want to start a thing so I'll just say that there will never be a good argument for privatizing USPS. That would be like privatizing libraries. The aim of services isn't to be run for profit, they are for serving the greater good, which USPS has been extremely successful at.
