Yeah like I think transfem people getting a safe place to see themselves represented and flesh it out is amazing, but also I think there's certain tones and specific phrases/shorthands that like simultaneously manage to be homophobic and transphobic in v well established ways

Honestly I don't necessarily give a fuck about people doing this clunkily for fun in isolation but posted alongside many notable others doing the same in increasingly tone deaf ways quickly enters rhetorical gender territory shared with a high school boy's locker room

Yeah I think there's ways to explore this without trampling too much on the original context of say Zeta (in which Quatts was written as quite masculine in a way that speaks to his sense of belonging as a warfighter and partisan, which is thematic) and without stumbling assfirst in2 transmisogyny
