Investing in community-based solutions works!!!

Brandon Scott and his team, especially MONSE, Safe Streets, and other non-profit community groups have done *incredible* work.

as I have said before, the venn diagram of Congressional props and college mock trial demonstratives is a circle
Dems are doing an exceptional job in Noem oversight hearing, using a lot of clips. @delia.bsky.social included a video FROM THIS HEARING of Noem lying.

But this picture is pretty funny.

On Jim Lovell’s passing, go listen to Season 2 of 13 Minutes to the Moon if you haven’t already. I think it’s the best season of a podcast ever made, and I don’t say that lightly.

I bought a bag. I like the bag, don't like the color. The color I like better is back in stock, so I am exchanging the bag for that color. I need help doing that at the original price I paid. So far, I've gotten three levels of AI responses to my customer service requests.

I'm returning the bag.

I could die happy if I never have to hear Dan Plesac say “Louie Robert” again.
Man, the John Schriffen / Dan Plesac booth is almost unimaginably bad.

My kingdom for Jason Benetti.

When you omit "A Black man is getting a standing ovation in the Deep South for breaking a record of an all-time baseball idol," you completely alter what Scully was describing as "marvelous." Scully was NOT just broadly marveling. He was marveling at a very specific, very important thing.

This was Vin Scully's call of Henry Aaron's 715th home run. Tonight Major League Baseball cut off the first sentence, starting it with the "What a marvelous moment" part because they don't want to anger the white supremacists who run our country and of whom Rob Manfred is an ardent supporter.

Brandon Scott has beaten back so many of Baltimore's worst people (Dixon, Vignarajah, the Mosbys, et al) while doing so much good for the city, but because he isn't white and doesn't play in a terrible cover band, no one talks about him for state office. But they should.
For instance: If murders in Baltimore were UP 40%, then Mayor Brandon Scott would be a national figure. Instead it's gone down that amount so no one knows who he is.

I grew up reading Star Wars books. They made me feel alive, immersed in a galaxy of richness that I still treasure to this day.

Andor made me feel that way again. It was a masterpiece from start to finish, and every piece of it fits so beautifully into the Star Wars universe.

Yes, Baltimore is the greatest city in America

*gestures* all of it

(I travel a fair amount, I've driven in a lot of cities. Baltimore drivers appear to believe they are actively racing at all times.)

Absolutely. My 1L grades were tough, but I worked hard as a 2L to bring them up and landed a state court clerkship with a wonderful judge because I was able to show I was improving.
This is 100% true. And as you apply for jobs or clerkships down the road, an upward trajectory can be a lot more compelling than the average. Keep at it. You will never take tests again after school and the bar exam and we know that.
1Ls at most law schools recently received their grades. If you're one of them, and you're disappointed in how it went, please know it's absolutely possible to raise your grades—sometimes substantially—in future semesters. Fall 1L grades are not destiny.

Misinformation is afire on the internet, so here are facts about the prison firefighter program, all in one place.

A thread.
