i might lose lefty points for this but i’ve heard from lots of people, ordinary, non-online people that they just want the shutdown to end. I don’t know that this is a watershed moment for anyone - voters will totally forget this and hopefully the harms done can someday be reversed

The theme of this election night, yet again, is that Trump voters show up to vote for Trump and that’s it. If he’s never on the ballot again, there will be more election nights like this. I’m just afraid Democrats still don’t understand that and we don’t have institutions that will keep him off.
