Petrol has been “done” for many years-everyone is aware of its impacts, that’s why measures are in place to phase it out. Wood burning is the only increasing emissions source despite being used by a tiny percentage of the population. Less than 1.9m cause more PM2.5 pollution than 41.4m road vehicles

Burning wood doesn’t just pollute your home – it also pollutes your local community and harms the health of your neighbours.

This #CleanAirNight, share the facts about wood burning so we can protect the health of everyone in our communities.

I don't understand how the IoW Green Party can say they are against climate destruction, when they don't care about Green Party councillors on the IoW visiting a wood burning stove manufacturer, who has repeated the misinformation the ASA have recently ruled against.

They don't care about people's health.
If they did they would actual look at the evidence, rather than promoting misinformation.
By distorting evidence on stove pollution, the article misleads readers and harms efforts to protect public health.

Our council is so dismissive (and often aggressive!) it has put people off reporting smoke nuisance. We need a campaign to change this. Everyone I have spoken to locally say the council are "useless" so there is no point in complaining, even if pollution levels are dangerously high.

We must all keep complaining! For all those 15000 complaints there will be numerous people who don’t think it is worth it. If there is a deluge they will have to do something! #AirPollution

Also another person’s “right” to burn stuff versus everyone’s right to breathe air unpolluted by wood smoke!
The flip side of that is unchecked pollution of the air in our cities, which is literally killing people. One person’s right to drive versus another’s right to clean air.

“Ecodesign” stoves, bonfires, charcoal BBQs and firepits are the main problem in cities now. They cause ~800 tonnes of PM2.5 in London every year. ULEZ savings are 23tonnes/year. A bonfire in a garden can cause similar PM2.5 levels in neighbours homes to wildfire smoke miles away.
