I have to fan-girl for a minute here. My friend @rosvall-lab.bsky.social built an app to gather data on bird behavior during the 2024 solar eclipse. 10,000+ citizen scientists contributed (including my kids), and the resulting paper was published in Science today!

My 20-something kid played a So True podcast episode during our ongoing road trip. The host (Caleb Hearon) interviewed Midwest queer historian Stuart Hinds. Fascinating convo. Toward the end, Hearon asked Hinds what is “so true,” and Hinds said, “Your phones are crack.” He’s not wrong. 🤔

Fresh off his victory in battle, this alligator went to a different corner and began a bellowing exchange with a different gator. When alligators bellow their bodies vibrate through the water to alert any gators below the surface that they're present. This causes surface water to dance.

PS: The postcard was 100% accurate. Ingoglia is a simpering MAGA hack who lacks values, and citizens have a First Amendment right to peacefully point that out. It's inappropriate, wasteful and un-American for the state to intimidate citizens for exercising their free speech rights.
