My latest: Contrary to popular perception, American antisemitism is not primarily a partisan problem—it is a generational one. "The research collectively suggests that America is becoming more anti-Semitic because its young people are becoming more anti-Semitic." Gift link:

A very important thread. When I was probably no more than 10, I saw this picture of the woman known as Harlow in the Philly Inquirer. A little babygay, I was shocked that such a glamour queen could live in my hometown and even more shocked to see her described as "a former man."

I saw on the news this morning that Les Mis is returning to the stage in France, inspired to import over here what I think was my greatest thread Over There.

Les Mis debuted in 1980, just as mass incarceration was taking off. It warned us, we didn't listen. Its lyrics are a syllabus on CJ reform:

Thing is, we DID hear about it at his confirmation hearing.

Every single senator who voted to confirm Hegseth knew he held these views about the laws of war.

They voted to confirm him anyway.
Everyone should read this terrifying thread about Hegseth’s published views wrt war crimes. It’s pretty fucking radical …. We needed to hear about this in his confirmation hearing.
A chapter in Hegseth’s book is literally titled “More Lethality, Less Lawyers.”

It’s almost as if there were signs!

This is the sign that moved me most today. The simple message. The homemade lettering. She seemed tired, but resolute.

Saw so many people from that generation today. People whose parents lived through WWII, who know what fascism looks like, and who may not be around to see us get out of this.

1. Many other people are more deserving of pardons.

2. Martin is both a dangerous threat and an incompetent buffoon.

3. These guys are doofuses the FBI prodded into a plot that never would have happened. And we shouldn’t encourage that sort of policing.
President Trump's new pardon attorney, Ed Martin, described the men convicted of plotting to kidnap Gov. Whitmer as "victims just like January 6" and said that "on the pardon front, we can't leave these guys behind."
