Why we do it
My mother in law rode my ebike to our youngest’s birthday party today. It was her first time on a bike in 25 years!

The last time she was on a bike she had a really bad crash. I’m very proud of her.

@nissamitchell.com was so great at supporting her through the scary moments.

This has got to be unpleasant for the assorted paralegals and contractors from LawInOrder who push trolleys of files around this intersection (NSW district court on one side, Federal catti-corner). Not to mention barristers with suitcases. And me.

Trapped in office building during power blackout. Can see water running down Goulburn St and fire engines. 😬

This is how I would like the Australian government to think. Spent on effective #ClimateAction and save in #energy costs, #disaster relief, #AgedCare and #health before we count the costs of loss of #biodiversity.

IMPORTANT: The Dutch invested €595 million annually on urban biking, resulting in €19 BILLION saved in public health care costs alone. That’s how smart governments do the math on investing in better mobility.

Let’s be clear— it wastes public money to NOT do it.

Voters deserve better than spam texts and misinformation.

I've long called for truth in political advertising laws and a ban on unsolicited political messages. It's time our electoral laws caught up with community expectations.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Sort of like that time Andrew Constance stepped on my bike helmet during an event.
Aside from the media giving him a push (boom tish) the Dutton bus getting stuck while trying to block a bike lane seems faintly appropriate.
The wheels haven't fallen off yet, but the Dutton campaign bus has hit the skids this morning.

Stuck on a concrete divider on Pitt Street, the media pack tried to help extricate the stuck bus. Follow today's election news in the Herald's live blog: shorturl.at/tjVaG

Blacktown Council states their 218 toilets cost > $15 million annually, six staff and three vehicles. ie. >$68,800/toilet/year.

But good public toilets could help grow the economy. Decent and accessible toilets help attract more people to a local area, activating spaces and building community.
Public toilets could be the jewels in our cities’ crowns – if only governments would listen
A New South Wales senate enquiry into public toilets is underway. Now’s our chance to talk about how public toilets communicate social values.

Sir Keir is forgetting the true cost of owning a vehicle.

There is a societal cost as well as financial:

👉 Collisions - injuries, fatalities, economic losses, policing
👉 #AirPollution - negative impact on #Health & environment
👉 Environmental impact - emissions contribute to #Climate change
