It's a long story, but to sum up: We are knowledgeable curators of our own soundtracks, and we like to share the power of the music made by womxn.
That's a sad one to hear.

On 1/30 we are shutting it down, and, on 1/31, we are gathering across the country to demand ICE Out of Everywhere, permanently!

Not acceptable. Not okay. The violation of rights and the "scary Black people" tropes do not play.

I look forward to Bondi [Miller] getting their asses handed to them on this one.

While you're doing your activism today, get this one in there, too - there's an easy form to send a letter to your reps to request fair compensation for musicians via streaming platforms.

Also, delete Spotify regardless - they're war mongerers. Try Qobuz, it's nice!
This week, UMAW launched a massive coalition action with 11 other partner groups calling for the passage of the Living Wage for Musicians Act, the bill to finally make streaming services pay artists fairly. Join us and take action at the link below.

See below and also get off of Spotify. Duplicate your playlists to a new service (such as Qobuz - do your research and don't swap a bad apple for a less bad orange) and then delete that account. It makes everything sound so much better, and I'm not just talking about the better sound quality. 1/2
Shreea Kaul is correct - streaming services like Spotify are exploiting human artists. AI music is just slop. We need the Living Wage for Musicians Act NOW and real protections against AI.

See below for links to all the ways you can support the people on the ground in Minnesota. Mutual aid, rent funds, legal funds, etc.
I added a page to the website where you can send a little love note to folks in Minnesota.

I keep getting lovely emails about how people are inspired by the resistance, but I would like to actually put these together for folks on the ground to read when they need to.

What I shared on IG and FB today...switch/stop/reduce.

Delete Spotify, get off X, stop (or reduce) using Amazon, Starbucks, Walmart, Uline, etc. Research where you shop and who you give your money to. Shop local, shop small where you can.

Next up for me, getting off Meta products and de-Googling.
