Andre Brook was completely dry last weekend.
We are doing everything in our power to ensure NYSDOT puts a protected mobility lane in the Route 9 Complete Streets project, so residents and visitors will no longer feel #2scared2bike or #ForcedToDrive, so we can cut a big chunk of our carbon emissions.

100%. Family + a kid's friend went to NYC the other day. $91 round trip. 😲 (Yet Lying Mike Lawler cries about the poor drivers having to pay the $9 Decongestion Pricing fee.)

"Her decision contradicts her long history of criticizing Cuomo. In April, she made headlines by suggesting that the 67-year-old’s “mental acuity is in decline” and arguing the city could not afford a “Joe Biden moment.”"

Free car parking means less money for frontline services.
What is more important?
Things like cancer care and treating sick children or car parking?
No one is suggesting not driving, BUT car parking should be self financing. making a fair profit for improvements and feed into services is also good.

Yep - I'm in Wales where its all free parking at hospitals.
The car parks are absolutely full to bursting from early morning. Staff cannot get a space, & the main Rd the hospital is on is at a standstill for hrs each day as ppl wait for 'their' free space.
Awful idea.

Wed. June 18 at Wilson School, just over the JC border in Bayonne. Come out and scream bloody murder, because ultimately that’s what this entire highway expansion project is, the future cause of death via crashes, air pollution, heat, sedentary transportation, and all the other ills of car traffic.

Yes. A huge disappointment. Ramos' credibility is now zero.

More people are questioning the cost of car ownership due to many factors including:

-Paying an average of $120k over 10 years
-Cars sitting unused roughly 95% of the time
-Rising e-bike ownership
-Most car trips are under 3 miles

New bike helmet cover! I’ve been eyeing this BikePretty hat for ages, finally decided to splurge for my birthday. Stylish summer rides are in my future!

(This is the XL cover on my Thousand helmet. They don’t ship to Canada but I was able to order it from Green Street in Peterborough, ON)
A white woman with glasses and curly long brown hair crouches next to some white and red tulips. She is wearing a bike helmet with a cover on it that is made of a yellow straw hat with a black ribbon.
Back view of the woman and her straw hat helmet cover. You can see the black ribbon is tied in a bow at the back of the hat. Profile view of the woman wearing the straw hat helmet cover. The brim of the hat stick out several inches to shade her eyes.

Baraka lies, falsely claiming Fulop is lying about building the most affordable housing. It's true, Jersey City has built more affordable than anyone.

the number one goal for everyone left-of-center for the next 6 weeks should be making sure Andrew Cuomo doesn’t become mayor of the largest city in the country.

even if you don’t live in NYC, you probably have friends or family who do. please tell them how awful Cuomo.

Andrew Cuomo, who leads in the mayoral polls, has a Trumpian belief in his own spurious talents and triumphs. His election would likewise be a disaster for everyone subject to his rule.

Trump's DOT is pushing a truly baffling narrative that the Biden administration didn't build any infrastructure, and now they're cleaning up the mess. Wrote about why that's bullshit + why we need to pay attention to exactly what they're building, and what they're not.

How do Utrechters keep their bikes safe and accesible?

One solution: the Fietshangar! These secure and durable 'fietstrommels' (bike lockers) offer a practical way to store bikes in dense urban areas. That’s why you’ll spot Fietshangars all over Gemeente Utrecht and Rotterdam.

Walking did not merely decline. It was deterred.

Rochester, 1953: 11 days after the first segment of the Inner Loop expressway opened, police began blaring reprimands from the loudspeaker of their new Safety Education Car. Their amplified orders were directly primarily at pedestrians. ...

A long term solution to the US transit funding crisis probably lies in capturing the value that transit creates: the increase in local land value around frequent service. That's the key to delivering both transit and dense housing nearby.

Great @jongeeting.bsky.social piece, relevant nationwide.
