I’m glad everyone is seeing this “all women space flight crew” for the absolute crock of shit that it is.

Especially considering that the Trump admin has removed references to women’s space flight and shuttering diversity programs.

“Rich women sit on a shuttle” is such a slap in the fucking face.

I think a lot about this quote from Anaïs Nin’s diary from 1939-1944:

“America is in even greater danger because of its cult of toughness, its hatred of sensitivity, and someday it may have to pay a price for this, because atrophy of feeling creates criminals”.

Here's some extremely niche nerd content:

Cartoon Mendeleev raps about the Period Table of Elements in this song where the chorus is basically all the elements up to calcium. In Korean.

How do my Korean language exchange partners ever figure out what the heck I'm saying? I misremember or drop entire syllables in words constantly and probably sound like I'm speaking nonsense.

Ex: I mean to talk about the disappearing Y chromosome (Y염색체) and just said 색체 instead. 🫠

As much as I know that testing can be used as a malicious tool to bar accessibility and disenfranchise people, sometimes I kinda wish the US had a requirement for people taking/holding public office to regularly pass a civil service exam...

Microsoft's own research confirms something that was already pretty obvious: relying on a text generating machine to come up with answers erodes critical thinking, and is a method favoured by those who never liked doing critical thinking in the first place

Hardly new info, but BSky should know:

Warsaw's water quality is monitored by eight clams with magnets attached to their shells. If contamination in the water causes the clams to close, the magnets trigger an alarm and shut off the city's water supply.
Thank you, little guardian molluscs.

I love Naver dictionary, I really do. It often gives excellent context through hundreds of real world (and not) examples sentences...And I still have not a clue what 엿먹다 means based on looking at these. Guessing it's vulgar? Loool

On tiny dog figurines found buried under a palace in Nineveh, Iraq are inscriptions that seem to be names.

Finished Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead by Olga Tokarczuk (English Translation by Antonia Lloyd Jones). This was a surprisingly fun, if very morbid, read, but the fact that the deaths in the novel are narrated by such a richly imagined, witchy main character is pretty entrancing. 💙📚
