just found a lowkey fire melody i made in beepbox and bookmarked but never ended up using. I swear i should organize my beepbox bookmarks better so I actually can reuse the stuff I'm not sure about in the moment. Anyway i'm gonna make some music with this now!

A topic I feel I see sometimes about games is people talking about games that have a monopoly on a certain type of game, not quite a monopoly on a genre as it's more specific than that. #gamedev #gaming

Well, the pace has definitely picked up, a lot got done last week and the week prior. But I think I'm gonna hold off sharing a video until there's some more interesting stuff added.
I am still working on it, though progress is pretty slow... I should probably pick up the pace, anyway, I'll share a video of it at the start of the next month!
I'll be working on it until the end of the year, it's Hamtaro's 25th anniversary this year after all. That gives me about 3 months. This may result in me having less stuff added than planned but I'll work better with that deadline.

I'll share development here, If anyone read all that, thank you!

Sometimes I'm coding something and get it to a point where it mostly works well but there's just one little thing that I want to get working just a little bit smoother and in my efforts to do that I end up breaking everything else. I'm hoping this is a universal experience...

Every time I've played a game that did this it ended up being super memorable and cool. It'd only not be fun if the player didn't really like the game all that much to begin with. Then they might stop playing or not know there is more game in the first place, but under that circumstance, who cares?
genuine question for any game designers lurking out there: why would you roll credits before the actual game is over? Why have a sort of false final boss, full credits, and then...just loads more campaign?
I feel like...weirdly betrayed by the design when it happens, and annoyed, not excited

Okay, so, pro-tip if you have a HUGE uneven sprite sheet and want to use it in Godot but also don't want to go insane just use something like Dazz's tSR Tools to split the sprites into individual images and put them in a folder. <( _ _ )>

Seriously, it'll save you a lot of pain...

So apparently Godot spritesheets have to be perfectly even unless you want to constantly be fighting with it, I encountered this issue with my first Godot game but I thought maybe there was a way around it. It'll take a lil while to edit the sheets but I guess it's not that bad, just a bit annoying.

A couple of years ago I began working on a Hamtaro fan game, it helped me learn a lot of stuff in Unity back then but I was very overly ambitious with it. It ended up being more of a playground where I would try out new stuff in Unity. #hamtaro #gamedev #ハム太郎 #indiedev

once you set up you're feeds it feels really nice here! it's kind of more peaceful I guess? compared to some other platforms everything feels more orderly... can't wait to start sharing some stuff I'm doing!
