This is lining up to be an epic thread demonstrating why most people either definitely should or definitely should not be taxonomists
Well here goes. But could someone please, pretty please, finally split the genus Enicospilus?
That's nowhere near the end of the key to just the known African species. 🧪

Appreciate you. Not that I know of. Maddox (2002) remains the definitive Franklin. Unless you count the forthcoming opera.

The account Cobb & Comfort set out sounds much more like what I heard from my late father, who joined the King's lab as a grad student a yr later (54), worked there til 1970, & shared a lab bench w Ray Gosling. Dad summarised this 'consensus view' in a letter to the THE after Cricks death in 2004.

If you believe either that Franklin discovered the double helix, and / or Watson and Crick stole her data, ask yourself how you know this. Then take a read of this article.
If I see one more stupid Rosalind Franklin take I'm going to lose my mind. Thank god for @matthewcobb.bsky.social and @nccomfort.bsky.social. www.nature.com/articles/d41...
What Rosalind Franklin truly contributed to the discovery of DNA’s structure
Franklin was no victim in how the DNA double helix was solved. An overlooked letter and an unpublished news article, both written in 1953, reveal that she was an equal player.

Just realised @xkcd.com turned 20 in September. I read it religiously during my undergrad, 2006-2010, and hadn't remembered how close to the start that was! There are many excellent strips, but two in particular capture so much of my attitudes to life (150 and 1211).

I've been getting back into the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series after many years, and the most relatable part is how everyday objects like doors and elevators have been imbued with artificial intelligence and it just makes them obnoxious and frustrating to use and everyone hates it.
