Twitter refugee looking for news, civil conversation, and not a TEMU cup holder. I think Arsenal FC is pretty great and am a WW2 nerd.

Yes, we do talk a lot about his personal failings, often in very ableist terms, I'd say we talk enough about that.
What we don't talk enough about is the concentration of power that enables one person to destroy so many lives; or indeed about the fact the problem is a political machine, not one man
I mean, do we talk enough about how deranged this person is—and how he should be miles away from the levers of power?

Not counting today, Arsenal have missed an averge of 5 players for every single match this season.

All of those players are key players, too.

May these ghouls rot
My constituent, Wilmer, was mauled by an ICE attack dog despite the fact that, as he has consistently explained, he was not resisting arrest or trying to flee—his wife and young children, all U.S. citizens, were forced to watch helplessly as Wilmer was violently attacked and dragged away.

A court with a normal-ish conservative majority would have been tolerable. I'm not eager for court packing, impeaching justices, and other such options. But this court sticking around post-Trump is untenable. They've already torched their own legitimacy, the only question is what do we do about it.

Fifa are supposed to serve the voters, the national associations, not the other way around.

How many will speak up about how the World Cup has been used to make highly politicised points, and push specific agendas?

It's good—very good, and very important—that district courts keep issuing these 100-page rulings upholding the law. It must be incredibly dispiriting to see them overturned in a two-page, lawless, unsigned order, but please, keep them coming. They expose SCOTUS' corruption like nothing else.

Rand Paul could have prevented Pete Hegseth from being confirmed as Defense Secretary. Instead, he voted for him — a manifestly unqualified candidate — to run the Defense Department. Now, we're here.
Rand Paul tells me that he wants the full video of the Venezuelan boat strike released.

“And I think if the public sees images of people clinging to boat debris and being blown up, I think that there is a chance that finally, the public will get interested enough in this to stop this.”

This absolute legend passed away today - the last living medic of Omaha Beach on D-Day. I know that time is relentless, but watching these men pass is heartbreaking. If you have time, read up on Charles Shay - he was a remarkable man who defined heroism. Rest easy, sir.
Charles Shay, D-Day veteran who saved lives on Omaha Beach as a 19-year-old U.S. Army medic, dies at 101
Charles Shay was awarded the Silver Star for repeatedly plunging into the sea and carrying critically wounded soldiers to relative safety.
