We need to sound the alarm 🚨. Today, the House passed a barbaric piece of legislation that would subject migrant children to invasive bodily searches, keep them in prison, and refuse to let them be released to their families.

We don’t have a budget. The US government doesn’t run on continuing resolutions. Get to work, Johnson!
It’s painfully clear. By refusing to swear in Adelita Grijalva, Speaker Johnson’s covering up Jeffrey Epstein’s global sex-trafficking ring.

Hey GOP: Bring back the House, cancel your health care cuts, reopen the government and release the files.

ICE is running around Chicago harassing people for not being white.

Just a year ago, that was illegal in the United States and now it’s commonplace.

That’s not making America great again.
South Shore Residents Return To Ransacked Apartments After ICE Raid: 'It Looks Like Hell'
A "now renting" sign outside touts granite countertops. Inside, residents are trying to make sense of the raid that made their already neglected building even worse.

School lunch hack for parents: If your kid has the dexterity to open them without spilling too much, send them to school with a ziploc bag of takeout condiment packets

ketchup
mustard
mayo
soy sauce
sriracha
plum sauce
taco sauce
salt and pepper

My foodie kid has made almost every meal palatable

The #1 way to explain America working properly is by saying “comedians can make fun of he President on TV.” A good way to explain fascism is “the President forces companies to fire those comedians as a condition of allowing them to conduct business.”

This is Charlie. Charlie bit me. Now, Charlie is on observation for rabies and I am on two different antibiotics since I’m allergic to the antibiotic they prefer to give for cat bites. Charlie will not be our kitten when they’re off observation. We’ll have to find a home for them.

Who’s out here sitting quietly without reading or knitting, or anything?! What kind of ADHD hell is this? (From my sleep study questionnaire.)

Kyetnam ndewkwé. I have a migraine. As a result, we couldn’t go to our bodéwadmwen class today and we’re trying to do a little studying at home. Top seems to think that he can become a Potawatomi cat by sleeping on our books. If this works, we’re sleeping with them tonight.

When you’ve loved Chihuly for years and you take a special 9 year old to OKC MOA for her birthday, you might get the chance to help two more people fall in love with Chihuly. I will always look for Chihuly exhibits wherever I go!

We have some news to share:

The State of the Tribes Address has been postponed to next year.

HOWEVER, we have some great momentum building toward our lobby day this Wednesday (5/12), & we still intend to get together with you all and advocate for justice and fairness for the Wabanaki Nations.

Israel is still a genocidal country. They haven’t stopped being genocidal just because the IS has a new president
For nearly 60 days, no food, fuel, medicine or other items has entered the Gaza Strip, blocked by Israel.

Aid groups are running out of food to distribute. Markets are nearly bare.

Palestinian families are left struggling to feed their children.

Ah, yes. Anne Frank never would have lived long enough to write a diary in modern day US
The Trump administration now says they are allowed to enter your home to look for migrants without a warrant.

They claim their actions are unconstrained by the Fourth Amendment.
Justice Department memo claims Alien Enemies Act allows warrantless home searches and no judicial review
The memo says "Alien Enemies" aren't subject "to a judicial review of the removal in any court of the United States."

One of the many reasons I am #anticapitalist
After citing Trump's tariffs as an excuse for mass layoffs, automaker Stellantis is rewarding shareholders with a $2.26B payout.

Big corporations will use any cover they can — like inflation or tariffs — to pad profits and line their pockets at workers expense.

Know the truth.

Privatization doesn’t “fix” government. It sells it off to the richest bidders, then hands us the bill for broken systems — and BOTH the Republican and Democratic parties are in on it.

CORPORATE WELFARE is the real Ponzi scheme.

The loss of Pope Francis at this point in world history could be devastating. I’m an indigenous atheist and despise the Catholic Church, but who the pope is and what kind of person they are has major implications for the world.
“This happens today: if the investments in the banks fall slightly… a tragedy… what can be done? But if people die of hunger, if they have nothing eat, if they have poor health, it does not matter! This is our crisis today!”
