Be careful interpreting political polls.

As much as it's nice to see Aotearoa reacting to our government being awful, nz political contentment is heavily influenced by how the All Blacks are doing than actual politics.

And they recently lost to South Africa.

I get that many people can't see that an image is AI gen. What i don't understand is how offended they are when you tell them.

Knowing how to spot it (and seriously it's pretty obvious in some images) is a skill you gotta have these days. And if u not gonna learn it, accept you'll get it wrong

Spent way too long checking if this was AI gen

BREAKING

In a new video, Dolly Parton, the Queen of America, says she’s going to be ok.
br3nda.bsky.social
People act like their needs are produced magically by shops. For so many people, the concept of getting it yourself is nefarious... Like, the producer is allowed to pull it from the whenua but not us normies.
br3nda.bsky.social
Anyways, now I know how all these things are made, and where to get some. All my needs, they come from nature. Whether you grow yourself or outsource the growing. It's all from the whenua.
br3nda.bsky.social
But when that wasn't enough to avoid plastic I ended up buying the ingredients. When those only came in plastic, I grew the ingredients.
br3nda.bsky.social
I start with plastic free in about 2018. It made me think a bit harder when getting groceries and everything else. Nudged me into buying different brands, mostly local not supermarkets.

Here we go Wellington. You're gonna be more boring
br3nda.bsky.social
When every renter has their vote cancelled out by landlords vote, and young people have to leave to afford to buy, and anyone who works in social services or policy has moved to Australia....

Can predict the Wellington election result as the most boring 50year olds favourite white man centrist.

We are alarmed by reports that Germany is on the verge of a catastrophic about-face, reversing its longstanding and principled opposition to the EU’s Chat Control proposal which, if passed, could spell the end of the right to privacy in Europe. signal.org/blog/pdfs/ge...

so, this is what i do for a job now. I look after a bunch of websites like this one:

theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/repre...

This show how often an MP turns up to parliament, and how they vote on everything.

and i'd really like to launch an NZ one -- but no idea how to fund it.

The Ihumātao protest was already illegal, and didn't need this law to make it so.

OTOH, Ihumātao also shows that the law means nothing if there are enough protestors, which is something perhaps we all need to remember.

On the face of it, it seems reasonable - don't protest outside private people's homes blah blah blah...

however, this includes private land & immediately would have meant legitimate protest like the important & significant Ihumātao protest of 2019 would have been quashed by this bill.

Pls submit

Fucking hell. This wasn’t on my radar. #nzpol thank you Emily Writes

‼️Submissions close at 2pm TODAY Oct 6th! ‼️

This amendment makes it an offense to protest *near residential areas.

This is fascist suppression of free speech 101.

$65000 a year is barely enough for one person, let alone enough to support another adult or two as well.

First announced at the Budget, the government had not at the time decided where to draw the line.
