We’ll make it right again.

I don’t know when, I don’t know how but we will.

We have to!

I'm really, really tired of most people needing to care about politics

I really hope when this is all over that most people can go back to not paying attention to shit

The president is at war with the country and he's too dumb and mentally deteriorated to realize that he's losing that war
Trump just posted that the "day of reckoning & retribution is coming" in Minnesota.

I am so, so, so FUCKING TIRED of jackasses who were content to stand by and let it happen because a particular candidate wasn’t their platonic ideal now running their mouths about “how no one tried to prevent this.”

And, no, Democrats are not as evil and stupid as our GOP-voting neighbors. They just aren't. Even the very few that are actually slimeballs help us get non-slimeball things passed most of the time.

“Lesser evil” has become a trigger word to me lately.

“Less or evil is still evil, you shouldn’t settle. Blah blah, blah blah blah.”

i saw someone propose an interesting theory as to why they're doing this in specifically Minneapolis: it's a progressive city that's still small enough for them to do this type of heavy-handed occupation

there's nowhere near enough manpower to have this type of density in LA or Chicago

What ICE/BP is doing to Minneapolis is awful.

And it's taking everything they have. By population, Minneapolis is America's 45th largest city.

Keep both in mind at once: the regime's desire for authoritarian domination is bottomless, and they'll act on it, but their capacity to do so is limited.

Also, how man of those "just give up" Eeyores are russian bots or bot-like users, on social media to spread dissent and negativity? Plenty. All the more reason to block them.
It's weird, but I suppose not surprising, that the number of "nothing works, give up," Eeyores has exploded on Bluesky — just as we're responding to an incident that has every hallmark of a tide turner.

That seems counterintuitive. Shouldn't people be energized? Well, that's why. Bear with me....

we have been way too tolerant of cowards: we should be demanding that far more people in power who claim to be against the murderous evil of MAGA meet the standard currently being demonstrated by Jerome Fucking Powell
Jerome Powell: "This is about whether the Fed will be able to continue to set interest rates based on evidence and economic conditions—or whether instead monetary policy will be directed by political pressure or intimidation."

minneapolis is under siege and it is taking basically all of ICE’s manpower

they cannot replicate this across the country and they aren’t close to recruiting the kind of numbers they’d need to even get close

they are, flatly, not going to be able to get there

I have thought about this a lot - my dad was career military and he always told me that the military was the last bastion of democracy in the case of a runaway administration, because their oath is to the Constitution and the people, not to the President. If they resign, puppets will replace them.

The reactionary centrist logic is simple: if the left does something bad it’s the left’s fault, and if the right does something bad, it’s also the left’s fault for making them do it. It’s a simple formula and once you see it every one of their arguments is the same

They don’t have the juice or manpower for it. This is not late 1930s Germany. There is no state monopoly on media. They are wildly unpopular.
The goal here is martial law. It’s martial law. Let’s be clear about that.

I've seen refugee aid efforts defeat multi-year occupations by regional / national police forces who deployed 30x the amount of resources. Hell I've been part of that.

It is *very* possible.

ICE's budget has a limit.
Make them use it.

ICE's morale has a limit.
Make them lose it.
