EXCLUSIVE: A top Democratic strategist has launched new policy research and messaging hub, called Searchlight, with a goal of pushing the party toward the most effective, broadly popular positions.
Dems are quietly forming a think tank to help them win again
Searchlight, a name inspired by the birthplace of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, comes at a precarious moment for a Democratic Party.

The city of Tulsa, home to one of the most horrifying racial-terror massacres in U.S. history and the people who tried to cover it up, has announced a $105 million reparations package.
Tulsa announces reparations for the 1921 ‘Black Wall Street’ massacre
It took decades of research by historians and journalists — and reports by state and federal commissions — to uncover the violence that claimed more than 300 Black lives.

Thinking about this some more, basically the only path to maintaining something like constitutional continuity is for Trump to be impeached, convicted, and removed sometime will before the end of his term, right?
I'm still not sure what kind of continuity can be had amidst all this, and tbh I'm kind of hoping we get a bit of an appetite for radical constitutional reform going

But... yeah. It's interesting.

Andry Hernandez Romero, the Venezuelan makeup artist sent to a notorious Salvadoran prison, claimed asylum in the US because he was persecuted as a gay man.

Chris Van Hollen met in El Salvador with Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Andry lived in San Diego—why hasn’t Alex Padilla or Adam Schiff met with him? 🤨

This Politico piece is doing some heavy lifting. Trump is not a victim here. The person to blame for the dysfunction at the Pentagon is the guy who picked a Fox News commentator who was inexperienced & profoundly unqualified for this crucial position. The disservice being committed here is by Trump.

I care less about Signal chats and more about the blacksite offshore concentration camps we're sending random people to without any semblance of a trial, so I'll be interested to see if the national media can rub their bellies and pat their heads at the same time this week. Historically they can't.
