Over Christmas, my mum was in hospital. In a bay with other elderly women.

She reported back that they all hated Labour, wanted a Reform government to sort the country out, and 3 out of 4 of them thought there was a conspiracy to kill off old, white people.

They all have a vote.

Every few months, Starmer declares some sort of reset, 'we're not delivering fast enough', yadda, yadda, yadda...

The paltry (yes, paltry) amount of good they have accomplished thus far, is set against the cataclysmic damage they have done by constantly saying Farage is right, then pleading...

Not starting the New Year with a hangover is pretty awesome.

I'm far too old for that gubbins now. It was great to hear the kids enjoying themselves last night (I live between 2 pubs), but I was fine with a couple of pints of Guinness and bed.

It was lovely.

I’m a *lot* fed up with the constant gaslighting about what this Labour government has been like.

I’d love a good Labour government. I’d be right behind it - if it stopped the xenophobic bollocks, started treating disabled people with respect etc etc.

Currently, Starmer is Farage’s best recruiter
I am a bit fed up of the constant undermining of a Labour government. Let's start 2026 with some positivity or we will have a Farage 'government' to deal with.
So he’s resigning?

Blackpool is not a happy place.

This is going to make things much worse.

I'm sure Keir 'why mess with the status quo? It's brilliant' Starmer, is really paying attention to this bollocks.

So 2025 is over.

Good. It was overwhelmingly shite.

2026 needs to compensate by aliens infecting all twats on the planet with radical empathy.

Or something.

Is the vacancy for the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts advertised as 'fixed-term'?

Cos, y'know.

Every single year at Hogwarts.

Supporters of Nigel Farage’s Reform UK held the most extreme views of any party backers, with 71% saying that having British ancestry was a prerequisite for someone to be truly British(Guardian 30.12). So that rules out the Royal Family

Nonsense.

The American president is a sociopathic grifter, who worst case, is an actual Kremlin asset and best case, aspires to be Vladimir Putin.

Not to be trusted under any circumstances.
🇺🇸🇵🇱🇺🇦 The US has declared its readiness to participate in security guarantees for Ukraine after peace is achieved, "including the presence of American troops, for example, on the border or on the contact line between Ukraine and Russia," — Polish Prime Minister Tusk said.

My 2025 audit:
1. I was wrong about Starmer - I thought there was more there than there is; his failure to kick back hard against racists, bigots and xenophobes has been a huge failure, morally and politically.
2. I was absolutely right about how the second Trump presidency would play out.

Ukip Farage: "Brexit will make farmers rich!"

Farmers: "Let's vote for Brexit!"

Brexit: *shafts farmers all across Britain*

Reform Farage: "Reform will make farmers rich!"

Farmers: "Let's vote for Reform!"

The *best* thing about this, is people who work heavily physical jobs, agreeing with it.

"I SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO RETIRE AND SHOULD STILL BE BRICKLAYING AT 85. ANYTHING ELSE IS COMMUNISM."
Not everyone has the luxury of sitting in front of a microphone in their basement spouting a few hours of fascist bullshit a few times a week.

Late December, 2023: "next year is going to be batshit nuts."

Late December, 2024: "next year is going to be batshit nuts."

Late December, 2025: "next year is going to be batshit nuts."

(Could we have a year off from the batshit, please?)

There's an article in the Times today assessing Reform's future electoral prospects.
It refers to Farage's "quirky band of followers". They mean "racists, cranks and Putin apologists" obviously. But for whatever reason, they won't say it.

Russia just bombed the main highway leading into Kharkiv - heavy traffic with families returning home after Christmas - cars are burning with people in them.

And we discuss signing something with them?

Nonsense, of course.

I'm rural, and the government does neglect rural areas, but the tiny minority of forelock-tuggers here who support hunts and the rich psychopaths who participate, should not be supported by any government.

Bloody awful Christmas. Practically everything that could have gone bad, went that way.

But it prompts you to have a look at other awful Christmas experiences online and then you realise your awful Christmas wasn't *that* awful, after all...😂
