Took my kids out for a visit at the club’s weekend event. They loved the duel gauge brewery layout.

Got an invitation to pull trains on it when everything’s been tested!

New video premiering very soon! This week I cover the narrow gauge engine characters introduced in the HiT Model era, and try and figure out how they'd worked if they were in the Railway Series

#TrainMisconductor is a pixelart railroad switching puzzle video game under development by myself and MsAsterisk. You run an alien locomotive, shunting cars from track to track in increasingly convoluted rail yards, while minimizing your timer and move counter to keep your conductor happy. #IndieDev
digital art drawing of a narrow gauge alien steam locomotive with 12 small wheels, a saddle tank, two funnels, a coal bunker on top of the saddle tank, platforms on either end, and some blinkenlights on its appliances. Standing on the front platform is an orange slimegirl in a hi-vis vest, with a blue slimegirl climbing up the ladder next to them. Title reads Train Misconductor. Screenshot of Train Misconductor, a 3D isometric perspective train game with faux pixel art graphics. Here we see a straight track with a parallel side track connected at both ends, with a pair of stub-tracks sprouting off in opposite directions. On one siding is a boxcar, on the other is a tanker. The tank truck and forklift next to each indicates they are parked in the wrong spots. The yellow tank engine from the drawing at the top of the post is also visible. The control stand is a skeuomorphic interface resembling the electronic control stand of a diesel engine, albeit with a brass pressure gauge and sight glass over the throttle lever. There is also a digital clock for a timer, and a mechanical counter displaying the move count. Screenshot showing an Inglenook Sidings level, with a 4 car long track fanning out into tracks of length 5, 3, and 3. There are eight boxcars of varying colorful liveries. The locomotive is shunting some of them. There is a warehouse on the longest track. screenshot shows a Timesaver level. A track with a passing loop is connected by a switchback to another pair of sidings, with two stub sidings at either end and one in the middle. There are five cars of varying types parked on each track. The g.u.i. shows placards with icons of each car hovering over that car's destination. The mouse cursor mouses over a refrigerated boxcar, highlighting the car in white.

Just finished upgrading my #3Dprintable rolling stock pack 2. Now they use metal wheels instead of the plastic printed ones. You can check out the designs on my #Cults3D page right now:

The locomotive needed a lot of cleaning, the chassis was filthy. But its been cleaned and serviced and runs well. The chimney was replaced by the original owner, so I may get another one in the future. Soon I hope to get the track setup and show some video of it running. #modelrailway
Cab shot of my Hornby 0-4-0 "Midland Flyer". The locomotive is a saddle tank made to depict the class 264 shunter. It is in a dark red livery with the number "895" printed on the side of the cab and the letter M and R on the side of the saddle tanks. Side shot of the same locomotive. You can see the printing in more clarity. It is also easier to see the replaced chimney on top of the smokebox. The chimney is not painted to correlate with the rest of the locomotive and therefore is still picked out in chrome. An angled shot of the locomotive showing the smokebox door and down the side of the locomotive. A full side view of the locomotive.

All this time working on locomotives I've not actually had a layout. So I finally decided to spend a bit and get one. When I was very young I got my first train set, however I was too young for it and it got wrecked. So I wanted to buy the same trainset I had as a kid. #modelrailway #00gauge #Hornby
A picture of a worn trainset box by Hornby. The trainset is called "The Midland Flyer". The front of the box shows a class 264 0-4-0 locomotive in a dark red with the Letters "M.R." printed on the side. Behind it is a wagon, small passenger coach, a flat wagon and goods van. At the bottom of the box are details on the contents of the trainset. Including the mentioned rolling stock, accessories, track and the controller.

A very late tribute to the late Britt Allcroft, but after the recent auction, I was inspired to do my own version of the famous Lady painting from Thomas and the Magic Railroad.
I'm very satisfied with the end result. It's exactly how I wanted it.
#thomasthetankengine #ttte #fanart #thomasandfriends
Full image fanart illustration of a painting of the character 'Lady' from the Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends film 'Thomas and the Magic Railroad.' The setting is a brownish yellow, grassy hillside with small red and white flowers dotted about. A small magenta steam locomotive with four wheels, a purple roof and frame, and gold smokebox and lining, with her name 'Lady' in gold script lettering on her sides is climbing the hill towards the sunrise in the background, which has fluffy pinkish-white clouds and lilac purple colored mountains with a bit of snow on their peaks. Smoke swirls out of the steam locomotive's chimney against the medium blue sky with a sun coating it in yellow from the left side. In the bottom right in script black lettering says 'In loving memory of Britt Allcroft' - indicating it is for the passed on creator of the television series adaptation of Thomas the Tank Engine a.k.a. The Railway Series books.

Maybe owning your own printer would save you money in the long run. Especially with the tariffs going on. Furthermore I doubt the tariffs will be around forever. These troubled times will pass as they always have and then the hobby will be stronger then ever :)

There is a certain elegance to the designs, I guess "Victorian" is the best way to describe it. Very of the time, but also great designs.

Blender does a decent job once you get over the initial learning process of how to use the software. The main issue will be with the printer. FDM printers can't do very small details very well even in 00 gauge so N is going to lose a lot of that detail. A resin printer would be better for N I think.
brookster3d.bsky.social
It does look interesting, I see what you mean about the smooth shell it's very pleasing to the eye.
brookster3d.bsky.social
These are 00 gauge tankers made in blender on an anycubic kobra 3 printer. Hope this helps :)
brookster3d.bsky.social
Here's one I thought of, I know its a model that been done in H0 gauge, but I would love to see a 00 gauge Big Boy. They are huge in H0, so to see them in 1.76 scale would be massive!
brookster3d.bsky.social
Cool! I wonder what gauge track it would have to fit in to be in scale with a model counterpart. Like would it run on 00 gauge to be in scale with gauge 1 or something.
brookster3d.bsky.social
I'm looking it up now and it is a very nice looking locomotive, very reminiscent of the city class.
