Voice teacher and SLP to be. Interested in the intersection of disability and professional/occupational voice use. Clean air and respiratory hygiene, because breathing is important. Everything is political.
TFW your pulmonologist’s office managed to get you prior authorization for an inhaler that your body doesn’t hate and all it took was *meticulous* records of asthma control stretching back to 2017 and data from a $200/yr fitness tracker 😵‍💫

Autism isn’t an epidemic. It's not a disease. It’s a natural variation in how people think…which, frankly, is a relief in a world where most people don't think at all.

'Vax and relax is never sufficient', we are still waiting for public health to catch up on that.
Attention has correctly focused on ensuring vaccination & immunity. But vax and relax is never sufficient, especially since some can't or won't be vaccinated. Strategic use of other measures that reduce risk of viral spread (quarantine, isolation, respirators, better air quality, etc.) are needed.

The #1 reported reason people avoid doctor’s appointments is because they’re afraid of finding out they have a serious illness.

If you have that fear, that’s normal and you’re not alone. Also remember, there is basically no serious illness that isn’t less serious if you catch it sooner.

ASL interpreters who work in the arts (concerts, opera, theatre, etc) deserve to be valued as artists too. it takes so much skill to be this good at capturing the FEEL of music beyond just translating the meaning of the text and it’s an invaluable accessibility service
The ASL version of “Not Like Us” is magnificent.

Hi! Are you on Medicaid and were you essentially turned away from the ER by being told that it isn't clear that you care would be covered due to Medicaid portal issues? Email me at [email protected]

Some disabled and chronically ill people don't have access to doctors who will write them notes to advocate for them to work from home. That's why blanket return to office mandates that do acknowledge the ADA can harmful, especially as more people become disabled via Long Covid.
