I need to read "Dracula". TikTok has piqued my interest in the mere existence of Quincy Morris and I have to see this shit for myself.

My husband, @catarsisol.satan.social, designed a cyclical calendar for me to follow to help me organize my year and keep track of what's happening. I love it so much!

Is it crazy to shop around for a new voice actress to fandub out Nicki's voice for Sugilite? Or would that be considered historical erasure?

This is just one example, but this story is the perfect example of why mediocre white guys are against DEI and this is the “American Dream” they’re trying to preserve. This is the “western culture” they want to protect, and anti-discrimination laws and policies destroy that.

People love public services & love taxing the rich to pay for them
In New York, nearly two in three voters across the state favor Zohran Mamdani's promise to provide universal government-funded child care and would support the mayor-elect's plan to pay for it by increasing taxes on those earning more than $1 million a year, a new poll found.
New Yorkers Back Mamdani’s Push for Free Child Care, Poll Shows
A Siena University poll showed that voters support having wealthy New Yorkers pay more in taxes to fund child care statewide, and favored Gov. Kathy Hochul in next year’s election.

Generative AI has filled me with such loathing I don't know if I can even appreciate CGI as much as I used to. The Luddite in me wants to go back to the days of movies having practical effects; things with true artistry that look like you can actually interact with them, because they ARE real.

I know there are a lot of different Peak edits out there that feature "My Way" by Frank Sinatra. This one, however, brought legitimate tears to my eyes.

I love vaporwave; it's a lot of the music I listen to. But sometimes I wonder if listening primarily to vaporwave is affecting how I view life in general. I've always thought of it as an intensely sarcastic genre of music, and considering the firm anti-capitalist stance I've been taking -

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

Finding another "AI" artist on Instagram (who is lying), with more than 80k followers.

How to verify this is AI?
- post every day and sometimes the same illustration with three propositions (midjourney)
- incoherences in the background
- differents art style in the past
- account created after 2022

I'm so tired of looking up organizational techniques for my AuDHD and getting recommended videos by business majors with undiagnosed depression and the personality of a cybertruck. "Dopamine detox" my ass...

No bailouts. The US should extort these companies when the crash happens so they get minimal compensation in return for nationalizing the entire panopticon industry and then destroying it once harvested for socially useful parts. It won’t happen but it should

I've nearly hit the 5000 video limit to my "Watch Later" list. I figured I'd try to delete as many videos as I can to start "culling the herd", but I'm interested in too many damn things. So I've got a slew of instructions/video essays I wanna watch and I have no idea how to trim it down!

Normally I'm nervous about cis-gendered white dudes who decide to make tech-related ideas their personality, but this particular video looks at least mildly interesting to me.

remember this Alan Moore wisdom: “…you have to put aside the fear of failing and the desire of succeeding. You have to do these things completely and purely without fear, without desire. Because things that we do without lust of result are the purest actions we shall ever take.”

I can't help it! Using the treadmill is significantly less boring when trying to figure out why weirdos like conspiracy theories.
Also, behold the duality of man—one side plots villainy, the other contemplates philosophy. If this doesn’t show how opposite @burronetta.bsky.social and I are, I don’t know what will.

I've been thinking a lot about Brian Blessed. I've only ever seen clips of his work, but I feel like I should take some time to watch both "I, Claudius" and "Flash Gordon". I think that might give me the best summation of his acting range.

I had a lot of fun making a PowerPoint presentation for my workplace, and my colleagues seemed to enjoy it too. How silly would it be to make a hobby out of making silly little PowerPoints on various subjects of interest?
