The International Criminal Court is ditching Microsoft Office, saying it’s too dependent on US tech, in favor of Open Desk, a German open source alternative.

The move comes after Microsoft revoked ICC head Karim Khan’s email access when he was sanctioned by the US for the warrant against Netanyahu.

Wow. First, this is very interesting sanctions implementation. Secondly, really illustrates weaponized interdependence, but also how the overuse of those powers will erode US soft and corporate power and influence.

Vancouver's proposed 2026 budget has been released.

It proposes a property tax freeze, a 10% increase to the Police Services budget, a 6% increase to Fire/Rescue Services, and lots of other cuts, including Arts & Culture, Planning & Sustainability, and much more.

I want to do a study of what colours people associate with different school subjects. Like, my science binder was always blue, except for the semester when I took biology and chemistry, in which case biology was green and chemistry was blue. Math was always red. I don't know why.
