Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Can’t decide what to buy on Prime Day?

I spend some time with investors who tell me they are ‘finance focused’ and ‘don’t do impact’. Then, we look at their portfolios and climate risks are everywhere, and ignored, in their supposedly rigorous financial analysis.

You might not ‘do impact’, but impact is doing you.

People (like Gerald Butts in this story) flatter Carney and delude themselves by claiming some great compromise on oil-climate is possible. Taxing oil and gas exports (in part to support domestic value-add) is a smarter policy than expanding either. www.wsj.com/world/americ...

Absolutely staggering how much energy data centers consume. To add another LA to the grid by 2030 is unreal, and all for bullshit machines. It's hard to think of worse investments humans could be making right now

The Insatiable Energy Demands of Data Centers Could Increase Fossil Fuel Emissions in California

Appreciate the effort and intent. But our bike lanes are in terrible shape--very hard on bikes! And we need many more secure bike parking spaces at the West Harbor GO station--Metrolinx won't listen to me about this but maybe they'll listen to the city??
