First time I've ever won an endurance race, but full credit to my team mate for a mega double stint to start the race and put me in a position where I just needed to not fuck up for 80 minutes.

Clay letters from ancient Mesopotamia are alive with idiom, sayings, and everyday language that I love.

Here are just a few random ones so you can enjoy them too.

Very hyped by this news, Grand Prix 4 is still remarkably good so making it accessible is a great thing.
🚨 Perhaps THE iconic series of sim racing games is coming to @steampowered.com: Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix titles will make their debut on the platform, as publisher Microprose announced!

All the hits for the PlayStatis2 in 16-Bit Sensation: Metal Gay Solid, .pack, and Kingdom to Heart. There may be a Silent Building, too.

Fake/close-enough game titles are one of the things I always dearly love to see 😌

It was straightforward in the end but no denying that Lando Norris is a deserving champion having been thereabouts almost all year. Some brave moves in traffic, when he couldn't afford to damage the car, made it safe in the end.

Trying out Linux properly for the first time in years (just in cast Window 11 goes off the abyss) and wtf KDE created their own version of Apple-style device connectivity over local networks and it just... works!?

It still feels a bit involved for end-users but desktop Linux has got a LOT better.

This game has a hell of a lot to answer for, being one of the first video games I ever played and getting me into both Formula 1 and racing games generally.

Today is the 17th anniversary of 428: Shibuya Scramble, a highly acclaimed entry in Chunsoft's sound novel series and one of my all-time favorite novel games.

I love it so much I made a whole dang documentary about Chunsoft and their sound novels: www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9BT...

"If you hate GenAI you're going to have to stop playing new games when they all start using it"

My brother in Christ, my backlog is literally thousands of games long. I have lifetimes worth of earlier titles to play, & I will gladly do that instead of boiling the oceans for a new CoD or whatever

Reading The Phantom Tollbooth as a child instilled a love of language and wordplay (and dreadful puns) that persists to this day. It's a reminder that language isn't just about communicating words and phrases, you can have so much fun with it.
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

dating sim but you have to manage a racing team and split your time and money between financing the team, driving, car modifications, dates. Characters would be rival racers, pit gal etc. If you don't train hard enough you won't have the stats to win a championship how embarassing

I was inspired by this post to replace the CMOS battery in my PS2 and THREE HOURS LATER I've managed to put it back together with everything working. I think it can just stay in Y2k when this battery runs out.
Mission accomplished. The swirly time orbs have returned.
