Life in the time of entropic empire.

Alexander was so impressed by Diogenes' audacity and freedom that he reportedly told his men, "If I were not Alexander, I would be Diogenes."

A Black man was killed by ICE (off duty) in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve. And like Renée Good, he was an American citizen. But most people have not heard about Keith Porter.

I need y’all to realize this. Black people experience this lack of visibility all the time when it comes to being victims.

State and local law enforcement know the communities they serve. They’ve built the trust and know how to keep us safe.

As Minnesotans express their first amendment rights, I encourage you to remain peaceful and know that local law enforcement has one goal in mind: your safety.

This is genuinely a good idea. We should do this. There should be a maximum wage, the same way there’s a minimum wage.

A second American Revolution should avoid the traps of capitalism, paternalism, oligarchy, institutional racism & the poison pill of the republic: an Executive cemented in the Constitution as a sacrosanct necessity. The Constitutional Convention and debates functioned along several fulcrum points.
Another thing about the Boston Massacre is John Adams' famous defense was less about right to counsel, which wasn't in question, and more demonstrating British troops could and should face fair trials w/ local courts and juries. Thus the Declaration's grievance about when they stopped allowing that.
The thing about the Boston Massacre— the fruits of arbitrary power— was not that the colonists were universally in the right. Things were thrown at the soldiers. But, the presence of a standing army escalated conditions. The use of force that night was not proportional. Citizens died needlessly.

This is stunning. Listen to this in Philadelphia.

Thousands singing “Hey-Oh, we won’t be silent while our friends are gunned down.”

Really listen to it.

As in #NaziGermany, the major societal institutions & sectors show little endurance to withstand fascist intimidation, corporate takeover & disregard for standard red lines. Or they do the job themselves by voluntary alignment & collaboration.

I’ll die on the hill that “all men suck” is, in general, baby’s first feminist thought, which is distressing considering that’s where most people’s feminist awakening seems to end.
