Absolutely not, ever. My three audiobooks are read by a beautiful human who took a lot of time to get the voices and the tone just right. It was worth every penny. AI will never be an option for me as an author or as a listener. Nope.
Hold the damn line on this, authors. I have dozens of books I can't turn into audio right now because I can't afford to pay a narrator, but I WILL NOT use AI to circumvent them.

We all stand together or we all get cooked.

Get away from your computer and go out there and experience some art or culture or human connection, my friends. ❤️

Like everything worth doing, in writing it's the action that's important. I need this reminder at least twice a week.

Most of us have used Global Positioning System (GPS) for navigation & we can thank Gladys West for creating the foundation for GPS.

She used her mathematical & programming expertise to invent an accurate model of the Earth.

She was inducted into the US Air Force Hall of Fame.

So, that halftime show made it clear, yet?

REVOLUTIONARY MOVEMENTS NEED ART

It's the air and the fuel and the light and the map

This was honestly such an inspiring and fortifying way to spend my morning. I love that the super bowl halftime show of all things was a powerful work of subversive art in this moment.
I am proud of all the people who DIDN'T understand Kendrick's performance taking the time to LEARN more about the cultural impact & significance.

We see you.
We thank you.
We appreciate you.

This is America, 2025

In one weekend (!!), one New York Times photographer, Doug Mills, travels from Gitmo to the Super Bowl to take two unforgettable images of where we're at as a nation

I first thought this during the FL re-counts in 2000. Every night we would tune in to see what happened today like it was a soap opera. There was little talk or analysis about what shifts were being set in motion for future elections. People treated it like, well, the Super Bowl. And so here we are.

Dorothy B. Porter changed libraries 💜

The Dewey Decimal System used to only have two classifications for Black people: 325 (colonization) & 326 (slavery). Each book by a Black person was put into one of these classifications. A book of poetry? Classified as colonization.

My first illustration is of Diahann Carroll in the tv show Julia (1968-1971). She was the first Black actress to star in her own TV series where she didn't play a domestic worker. She was a young widow raising a 5 year old son in a nice apartment while working as a nurse. #bhm #blackhistorymonth

All right y’all, so here’s the deal.

We’re struggling. Our monthly goal is to sell 1500 books. This month, we’ve sold less than 400.

We need your help. We HAVE to sell 1500 books by the end of Feb to keep our doors open. This was supposed to be a video, but Bluesky can't do 2 mins of video(Thread)

Help me identify this WWII soldier for a story I'm writing. My deadline is Feb. 14. The portrait was made between 1943 & 1945 in Pittsburgh's Hill District. He has a rifle medal on his chest, Service Forces patch & a Corps of Engineers insignia on his hat. Please repost & help me ID him. 🗃️

I help architects develop and craft AIA Fellowship applications for a living. This portrayal is so old and tired and doesn't actually reflect the thoughtful, imaginative and collaborative work so many architects (many of whom are not white men!) do in their communities every day.

Please follow the official Auschwitz account. They post a daily picture of someone who was murdered there, with a very brief bio.

Lives cut way too short. Innocent babies and children are especially hard to see. We need to remember them.

We should send the daily posts to our representatives.

I've got an op/ed on this I'm looking to place. Help appreciated.
