Scientists have created a new protein-based gel that can regenerate damaged tooth enamel. The material mimics a natural process to regrow enamel mineral structure inside holes and cracks. This technology could prevent decay and treat sensitive teeth.

Here’s a helpful chart to understand why people are panicking

The country or your state’s immunity threshold doesn’t have to get to 0%. A 20% decrease in vaccination still has PALPABLE TANGIBLE CONSEQUENCES.

Every seed of distrust harms ALL of us.

this remains a critical point going into the hearing this week. and because you need high vaccination rates to get the benefits of herd immunity with viruses like measles, small cracks -> small coverage drops -> big problems
The perennially difficult thing with writing about vaccine polling -- which this story handles nicely -- is that it's crucial to highlight two things at once:

-Americans broadly (and correctly) support vaccination, across party lines
-There are concerning cracks being leveraged in that consensus
Just 6% of U.S. parents say they are "anti-vaccine" and 8%-13% believe RFK Jr.'s false vaccine claims. But larger shares "don't know" enough to reject false claims or have other doubts about childhood vaccines - 26% think the CDC recommends too many shots www.washingtonpost.com/health/2025/...

Not sure how true this is everywhere, but in my neighborhood pharmacy, I had no trouble getting the updated Covid vax today. Not even a questionnaire asking if I qualify. Get vaxxed - it's a win-win!

In general, policies need to have near immediate effects on citizens in order to gain support. Otherwise, you end up with this see-saw situation, where one admin puts policies in place, and the next rescinds it all, and people don't know what they could have had.
The IRA was surprisingly effective at spurring investment in green energy. Where it failed was making it *politically* sustainable by delivering immediate tangible benefits to the public. In that sense, the Green New Deal was, in retrospect, the more prudent and realistic approach. on.ft.com/4n4Ayra

I've spent the last week in Canada, and have been using cash we've saved from previous trips. The number of times people have said "I haven't seen that in years!" is kind of hilarious. (It's probably been decades since my last trip.) Still works though!

I'm sure this has no bearing on the fact that every woman I know here has had to book appointments out 2 years ahead of time just to get the *chance at seeing her gyno. These policies have consequences far beyond what they target. #idpol #idleg

Hey there. We are all suffering from cognitive dissonance … people in Gaza are being starved, LGBTQIA & women’s rights rolled back, public media lost, disabled people targeted… and we are still being asked to live life as usual, go to work, butter toast. Some helpful thoughts from my work on grief:

If this is how difficult it can be for a physician to discuss treatment and approvals with insurance companies, imagine how difficult it is for the patients trying to get medical procedures covered. For profit insurance has motive to deny coverage. US healthcare is unsustainable.
A U.S. surgeon trying to have a “peer to peer” consultation with a doctor at a health insurance company who is hiding his identity as her patient gets denied coverage. And it gets worse from there. You have to see it to believe it.

Is there an app or something for people who travel a lot and want to let their friends know where they are in case there's a chance they could meet up in X country without making that information public? Anyone know? #travel #nomadlife

People don't realize how unsettling this is for breast cancer survivors. We've been through hell, and had to get a lot right in our heads. And then to ask a routine question without any regard for the patient in front of you... it brings a lot of feelings up and causes real pain. Do better.
Medical professionals should really finish reading my chart before commenting on the fact that I haven't had a mammogram since July 2022, given that that is when I had a mastectomy

I wore this to a concert last night. It's what I'd worn all day, and I didn't think anything of it. I got stopped 3 times - twice to compliment my shirt, and once to get a hug. In these times, in this place, we do what we can. #LoveIsLove #Boise #Pride

After a long and stressful week, there's nothing better than spending time with really good friends who just get you. It's the antidote to stress.

Also, wine helps.

And all I ever hear is how a woman could NEVER be president because women are too emotional. 🙄
Crypto is crashing. $TSLA is plummeting. Elmo pointing at the Epstein files. DJT threatening to cancel Elmo's subsidies and contracts. Kanye's calling for peace between bros. Catturd2 is begging everyone to calm down and be reasonable. Manospehere Twitter is assuring us this is all Alpha behavior.

I don't live in NYC, so I have no dog in this fight, but I don't understand how politicians can still get away with this kind of rhetoric. Like, HOW are you planning to do this? Be specific, because words don't mean anything unless you can deliver, and voters need to understand how you'll do it.
4 out of 5 NYC families cannot afford out-of-school care — often forcing parents out of the workforce, and families out of our city.

The status quo is not working.

As Mayor, I'll ensure EVERY CHILD in NYC has access to high-quality after school.
