Calling it now: At least two of the 2028 Dem primary candidates will do a conscious planned version of the Mamdani-Lander schtick. Rally tour, joint podcast, combined ads, something. Voters love it, and it makes both candidates look great.

18/ 6️⃣ The ongoing problem of desertion on a massive scale. Golikov says that over 60,000 men have been listed as deserters since February 2022, with more than 10,000 of them deserting for a year or more. He rightly says this is a systemic issue.

13/ 4️⃣ "Regular rotations and vacations." Golikov notes that vacations are often more notional than real. Because so many soldiers desert while on leave in Russia, they are often forced to take their leave within occupied areas of Ukraine rather than being allowed to go home.

I have an idea on how Trump can get his big beautiful ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.

It is super crazy how elite journalists in this country have like negative solidarity for each other & negative commitment to a free press, like they see other reporters get arrested and are either like "omg jealous, you went viral" or "lol nothing to do with me"

Any time they get questioned about this they accuse the person of "trying to overturn the 2024 election" as if that was a referendum on the constitution existing and the american people voted it out of existence. Madness

The theme of this administration is anti-legitimacy. "Oh we can disappear people without convicting them of any crime, we can destroy whole agencies and departments unilaterally, we'll start wars on a whim." They really don't believe they have any responsibility to the people or the constitution
If people really find this to be such an easy conclusion, then Congressional authority should be easy to get.

So why don’t they insist on a vote?

They know this isn’t “progressive” resistance. They want to marginalize it as such because on top of this war being ILLEGAL, it’s also deeply unpopular.
CNN’s Van Jones urges “progressives” to “get on board” with bombing Iran:

“I think progressives underestimate how dangerous Iran is. Iran is not a normal country,” he said on air.

Jones did not share whether he considers Israel—an apartheid state currently committing genocide—a “normal country.”

Do average people know that the largest nuclear power plant in Europe has been occupied by terrorists for over 3 years, and that they held (or hold) the workers' children hostage to force them to work? And executed some of the workers? And blew up the dam that helps cool the reactors?

Progressives get steamrolled all the time in Congress. We are an outnumbered bloc, especially on matters of defense. Shouldn’t be hard.

They know this isn’t “lefty” opposition. It is BROAD opposition from the American people across the board. The numbers show that. That’s why they’re pushing it.
