Let's send a message to Dr. John Joyce before he goes back to DC. Come to his Altoona office on Friday and let him know how we feel about the proposed cuts to Medicaid.

Elon Musk has launched an all out assault on working Americans. As Trump's unelected co-president, Musk has made it clear that he plans to slash funding to Medicare, Medicaid, and other programs we re...

Potter County is closing their only maternity unit. This means that 10% of PA counties (an area larger than Connecticut) no longer have birthing hospitals.

Waiting for the pro-life movement to jump on this any day now. Oh wait, they're busy protesting PAP smears at my local Planned Parenthood.

This situation highlights why it's time for Starbucks to make a serious economic proposal to our union, so we can finish negotiating contracts that includes better, clearer protections for workers.

When we fight together, we WIN together.
UPDATE: When the LA wildfires began earlier this month, Starbucks baristas reported working in unsafe conditions, with one store's video going viral on social media.

In response, these workers organized and fought back - and later won catastrophe pay. Hear their story below 👇

I have lost the ability to tell if news organizations are actually this out of touch, this uncaring about fact-checking or context, or if this is an editorial agenda to terrify the people who would benefit most from universal healthcare, the elderly.

What the actual fuck is wrong with companies these days.

Never participate in a voluntary survey if you're not unionized.
It's co-opting the language of therapy for straight evil that got me most fucked up. "As a company committed to fostering a healthy and supportive work environment" my ass!
This is pure supervillain behavior

I've always thought Altoona was overrepresented on TV shows because it has an interesting name. Pretty much any show that features characters investigating and traveling a lot has an Altoona episode (X-Files, Supernatural, Mindhunter, etc.)

Guess they were on to something.

A really important reminder that ALL of these industries have hero narratives that they repeat to themselves ad nauseam to help them sleep at night. Gambling, insurance, payday lenders, prison tech, they each have their elaborate fantasy realities in which they are heroic.
United CEO Andrew Witty gave an address to the company today (leaked to me), telling employees "we guard against...unnecessary care" and that "There are very few people in the history of the U. S. healthcare industry who had a bigger positive effect on American healthcare than Brian [Thompson]."

For more than a decade, there has been a systematic effort to destroy the NLRB by starving it of staff and resources. Sensing blood in the water, those who wish to do wrong with impunity are now sounding the death knell and petitioning the courts to declare the Agency unconstitutional. 5-alarm fire.
Hello! I took a deep look at the efforts by SpaceX and Amazon to gut the NLRB, how SCOTUS' right-wing majority could kneecap the agency, and what the disastrous results could be for workers and unions.

I've had so many bad, stressful experiences I'm just happy if I can get literally anything in a real glass, maybe with some sort of garnish.

I'd pay double to avoid explaining why I've got a plastic water bottle or a can of soda while everyone has a cocktail. Don't care if it tastes good.
Note for the upcoming holiday season,,, some of us are on a sobriety journey and mocktails or non-alcoholic beer options make a big difference 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Just two oligarchs doing their part to chip away at the few rights workers still have.

Meanwhile, they're being cheered on by people whose grandparents rioted and threw ball bearings through police car windows to get the measly rights we have now.
Today, attorneys for SpaceX and Amazon are arguing before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals that the National Labor Relations Board is unconstitutional.

Both companies had been found in violation of workers' rights by the NLRB.
