Some Seattle suburb boomers be like: I just went on a @ricksteves.bsky.social trip to Europe and walked everywhere and it was so lovely! 🥰

And also: what can’t I park for free on the street in the middle of downtown Seattle like in the 1950? I’m never visiting again. 😡

Sound Transit system expansion committee now in session. No big revelations, but one unsettling stat appears. West Seattle/Ballard projects are only at "12%" in design phase, nine years after voter approval.

the city has both a transportation plan, a vision zero plan, & a climate action plan that are all predicated on REDUCING VMTs!

the city is doing nothing to actually reduce VMTs

maintaining existing vehicle capacity on a literal highway that divides urban villages and neighborhoods is climate arson

Huge crowd in Seattle's Cal Anderson Park for the #NoKings rally. People standing from the Black Lives Matter street mural on Pine all the way to Denny. Bands, banners, and speeches from Congresswoman Jayapal, MLK Labor, and others.

Also, if the Fauntleroy Boulevard project isn't complete at the same time West Seattle light rail opens, I'll lose my mind
