The more I see those videos of #ICE in the US, the more I find myself thinking of the Black and Tans and B-Specials back in 1920-21 in Ireland; men with no police training given weapons and token uniforms, who took that authority as a license to terrorise local populations. Not a model to follow.

Yes, immigration agents not only took Arnoldo's phone, the 10th grader had to use Find My Phone to locate it — in a vending machine for used electronics, close to an ICE detention center.

We now learn that Fifa had a very specific "ask" in exchange for its "Peace Award" to Trump, with loads of gold trinkets, and that was dismissal of a criminal corruption case against senior Fifa officials. And Trump granted it. Another corrupt bargain, barely noticed (and ignored by US media).
