This is absolutely enraging. They can and will beat and detain US citizens for the crime of being Hispanic and then they’ll dump them unceremoniously hours later with no recompense.

TFW you paid $1400 to see Beckett’s most famous work without knowing anything about it
One Star Review of Waiting for Godot on Broadway
I recently attended Waiting for Godot on Broadway and spent over $1,400 for two Row C seats (103 and 104). I'm a longtime admirer of Broadway productions and even hold a season pass for Shea's Performing Arts Theatre, so I came in with genuine enthusiasm and high expectations. Unfortunately, this show was unlike anything ! have ever experienced —and not in a good way.
What I encountered was not the artistry, music, or emotional storytelling I usually associate with Broadway, but instead what felt like an endless cycle of nonsensical conversation between characters who seemed trapped in their own madness. I tried-truly tried-to find meaning, symbolism, or even a thread of emotional resonance. I stayed through the first half hoping the second would offer clarity. But by intermission, it was clear: this was a waste of both time and money.
Keanu Reeves is an actor I respect greatly, but I cannot fathom why he would agree to participate in such a disjointed, inaccessible production. His talent was lost in a performance that defied reason rather than provoked insight.
To anyone considering attending: unless you are drawn to highly abstract, nearly incomprehensible theater, I strongly caution you against this show. For the average, educated, thoughtful theatergoer, it is far more frustrating than fulfilling. In my opinion, this was the single most disappointing Broadway experience I've ever had - an unfortunate waste of money and, more importantly, of time.

Lol, you're all good, I just felt bad because I went in kind of hard and that can be a lot when you're not familiar with my various grudges against California politicians

Texas AG Ken Paxton hired a former staffer to work on a recent case. As a state employee, her labor would have cost taxpayers $641.

As a private attorney, Paxton allowed her to bill $3,780 an hour, so that day of work cost taxpayers $24,570.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton Is Outsourcing More of His Office’s Work to Costly Private Lawyers
Despite having an office of hundreds of attorneys, Ken Paxton is frequently opting for private lawyers — many to whom he has personal or political ties — to argue on behalf of Texas. One attorney cost...

As someone who was subjected to conversion therapy, it doesn’t work. It won’t work. It’s torture. I was hooked up to an IV and made to vomit watching gay porn for two hours per week. I was prayed over. Bibles and the Book of Mormon were shoved in my face.

Basically I don't wanna replace a dude with a massive ego and the morals of a windsock with someone with an ego and poor impulse/temper control
caveatofcass.bsky.social
Right? Things get tense here, and the last thing we need is for the sitting governor screaming at sitting members of the legislation because she doesn't like what landed on her desk. And I can't trust she won't do that, because "governor of California" is probably a more stressful job than House Rep
caveatofcass.bsky.social
Yeah, I'm in California, so I get a say in the primary process and she's a pretty solid "no" for that from me. If she makes it and it's not two Dems (an unlikely but possible outcome because of California's jungle primary), then I'll suck it up.
caveatofcass.bsky.social
Yeah, that's exactly my concern. This is showing that she has poor impulse control and a bad temper, and I don't find those traits desirable, especially considering what a pain in the ass the legislature is known to be. How is she going to handle that? It's not looking like the answer is "well".
caveatofcass.bsky.social
Oh yeah, I don't expect anyone living anywhere else to know them, or even most Californians. I don't think it's the end of the world if she ends up winning, but I want better for my state than her (especially since Newsom is finally term limited), and I'm worried about her impulse control/temper.
caveatofcass.bsky.social
But god I fucking hate our governor races, they suck so much ass
caveatofcass.bsky.social
And also, sorry, did not mean to go on a whole rant at you, I just already disliked her and this really doesn't improve my opinion of her
caveatofcass.bsky.social
Yeah, she was already on thin ice with me and I was planning on "anyone else who seems decent on housing" because of how she handled the declaration of her senate candidacy and her whole snit fit at Schiff for "rigging" it (which seems to mean "spent more money," which doesn't guarantee a win)
caveatofcass.bsky.social
Shit sorry, forgot to like the post lol

I also just don't think correcting someone when they're wrong is a big deal, especially when that's a big part of what staffers are for. The staffer, quite frankly, probably knows a lot more about the subject than Ms. Porter 🤷🏻‍♀️
caveatofcass.bsky.social
Also, like "but Trump's worse" isn't a defense. I don't expect Dems to pull miracles out of their asses like some people on here, but I don't think expecting better behavior than this is a high bar to clear.
caveatofcass.bsky.social
I know it's Politco, blah blah blah, but I already couldn't stand Porter and this doesn't improve my opinion of her. Don't talk to people like that, and maybe if you're wrong, accept a correction gratefully and not like an asshole

I despise her and her ego
caveatofcass.bsky.social
Oh I consider this disqualifying...for Porter. This isn't the first time she's done this shit, she declared her senate candidacy while Californians were dying in floods, and she whined that Adam Schiff "rigged" the senate race by...winning. She's a nightmare.
