I have lots of issues with the #budget2025 but its refreshing that all the news articles covering the real impact are filled with rich people complaining rather than the past 15 years where it has been very much the opposite.

The cases where news Co's have settled with trump he has had leverage with parent Co's leverage. He has no leverage over the BBC. He won't actually take it to court
Buckle up - because this now amounts to a direct and deliberate attack on our country and its cultural sovereignty. Which side our politicians take - Trump's or the BBC's - over the coming days and weeks will speak volumes about their patriotism.
Trump says he will sue BBC for at least $1bn over Panorama edit
The US president confirmed he intends to sue the broadcaster for at least $1bn over the Panorama edit of a 2021 speech.

Really disappointing labour seems unable to make a moral case for treating people like human beings
The real problem with Nigel Farage's plan for mass deportations is that he hasn't planned it out properly, suggests Labour

Fundamentally all this nonsense about raising flags everywhere is incredibly un-british is an American import. One of the great things about british patriotism is how open and understated it is. Not draping everything in flags and having the anthem for everything.

The success of GenAi is down to how many jobs involve generating increasing volumes of verbose text that no one will ever read
ChatGPT 5 boasts it can function at PhD level, “ask me anything”. Spouse inputs the title of his own PhD, says please write me a PhD on this topic. ChatGPT5 immediately crashes. Recovers, then produces a page of articulate garbage citing plausible-sounding but incorrect sources.

Someone needs to set up a pro-joy, pro-success pressure group, that goes around telling people who write this stuff to get a better job and go out and do enjoyable things.
Yes, yes, this is very much the consensus view across the globe. This is one of the many reasons that Glastonbury tickets are so easy to buy.

Insane how much of American politics is just basicallly corrup. Rich people openly saying oh you gotta donate in case you need a favour. UK is at least abit subtle about it (although our politicians are alot cheaper to buy)
There were a lot of people who backed Cuomo because they wanted him to win, but there were also a whole lot of people who supported him because they were afraid of what would happen to them *if* he won and they didn’t support him. Going to be interesting to see how many more of these come out.

Trumps attack on Iran makes it entirely rational for them to pursue the bomb faster and more secretively. Iran has signed multiple treaties and still gets attacked. No ones bombing North Korea.

This is the real 2-tier justice system
They have got Kneecap's Mo Chara in court for waving a flag in 3 weeks.

But it has been 5 years and Michelle Mone is still wandering about scot-free, while the people who murdered 72 at Grenfell are laughing after 8 years knowing they will never face justice.
