Working on course notes and has any result ever been better named than the Law of the Unconscious Statistician? Absolute joy to write and so aptly named.

This is a gross affront to free speech, academic freedom, and what’s left of A&M’s reputation as a good university. Shameful behavior

This professor did nothing wrong, which is why the university president is using this weird and nonsensical “doesn’t match the course description” language. TAMU is clearly in the wrong here in terms of 1) the law, 2) academic freedom, and 3) just plain doing the right thing.

So am I reading this court decision correctly? We now have 50 micronations with their own laws interpreting the U.S. Constitution wholly separate from one another? But there's one guy with private law enforcement who is immune from all punishment who can do whatever he wants in those 50 states?

California Senator Alex Padilla was physically assaulted by federal law enforcement and detained for attempting to attend DHS secretary Kristi Noem's press conference in LA.

This is disgusting.

If this is how they treat Alex Padilla, a United States Senator, how do you think they’ll treat you?

The other absurd part is the idea that the author is the final authority on their text. Asking what an author intended to say versus what they actually said are two different questions
ccrismancox.bsky.social
What’s maddening about this, of course, is that authors choose every word in the text. Even in the case of describing a door as red, that’s conscious choice and as such as meaning.
