Found some good additions to my mall Mario bootleg collection today. The figures were in a blind box marketed as a Sonny Angels knockoff, I should have kept a box but I tore into them immediately hoping to find a Mario, Luigi and Peach. Only purple and green Mario were found though.

Our culture has such a reliance on art, mixed with so much disdain for artists' lives. Someone throws soup at a painting in a gallery or whatever and everyone acts like it's a literal murder, but that level of sympathy is for the object, almost never for the living conditions of artists.

As a white person I’m not actually scared for myself yet, but when I see Minneapolis, all I can think is how the HWY 70 project already makes driving so draining that often I’m crying by the end of every trip to and from work.

On Sunday I was eating ice cream sundaes with my son when he asked me and mom what ICE was. I stammered my way through an answer, not knowing that on the other side of town ICE was capturing people off the streets. Thanks to NJ.com for letting me write about it. www.nj.com/opinion/2026...
I told my blond 6-year-old he’d be OK. Down the street, ICE took away another 6-year-old’s ‘papi’
No one in New Jersey should spend any more time pretending ICE tearing families apart is far away.

In Super Paper Mario, Mr. L is actually much smaller than Mario and Luigi, and gets scaled up at runtime. The game was originally developed for the GameCube before moving to Wii; Mario and Luigi received new Wii graphics while Mr. L was stuck with small GameCube textures.

Why do people see emotional autistic women and go out of their way to push their buttons? They see a woman with a pattern of getting too “emotional” or “dramatic”, and in response to recognizing that pattern they seek to exploit it.

The amount of friendships that I held onto as if they were for life, unquestioning in my willingness to unmask and trust the other people, only to one day wake up and realize they had been disengaged from me for months, sometimes years, is haunting. But I do see how those sorts of friendships
