I've noticed this about pretty much every awful thing. It's bad enough when you think of it as isolated individuals churning out content to stay ahead of the algorithm, but worse when you consider many are paid stooges for political and corporate interests. Which brings me to today's sponsor...
one lesser awful thing about the Epstein files is that genuine crimes against a huge number of children are being morphed into fuel for the influencer industrial complex who don't care about truth or accuracy and just want grist for the content mills

Finally into the Morrison era of X-Men. As someone who really didn't know much about X-Men comics before I decided to read all them, I'm amazed it took this long for Xavier's to actually become a school with more than seven people in it.

Can we comics people just stop and be thankful for this at the end of the Supergirl trailer?

Disney was having enough trouble getting people to watch the stuff they'd made with care, pivoting to make-your-own slop is going to put people off your properties even more. Imagine trying to get people excited about Frozen 3 if they've been swamped with uncanny Elsa videos on your own platform.

November 25th 2020 was my 32nd birthday. My 31st had been a lovely meal organised by my friends and had given me such a burst of love and optimism for the future that it felt like a cruel joke to be isolated only a year later. I was pretty miserable (as was everyone, of course!). But... 1/2
What's a charming memory you have from the worst period of the pandemic?

Decided to watch The Great North. Which I was enjoying until an episode about the wise, rugged and large-family-having patriarch (voiced by Nick Offerman) turning 40. I'm 37 next week. Why would they do this to me?

I have this weird but I suspect quite common thing where I get songs I've forgotten stuck in my head just from an association. So if anyone at Thought Bubble hears me humming Rain by Trivium today (a song I've not really thought of for 20 years) – it's that.

I'll have a very low-key table at Thought Bubble this weekend. I'll be in BubbleBoy at table F7b. Pretty much just going to be drawing and chatting about upcoming books and if I'll ever finish my small press books 😆. I will. Just been a bit of a year!

Hm, yes, indeed

Starting to worry that my parents were right and music DID peak in the 70s. But then only the masterpieces survive in our memories and the day to day quality was pretty dire. Just a procession of men in their 40s with just the biggest sideburns crooning about wanting to be Elvis.
every generation loves Rumours. it’s fucking Rumours

I'm sorry for quote-posting AI slop but this is both reassuring in how utterly bad and useless it is, and also depressing in that it probably got someone a million bucks from a venture capitalist.
Oh my god some fucking tech dingdong posted this on Twitter with the caption "AI games are going to be amazing" totally seriously, you have to watch it. You have to. In full screen.

Given how busy I am i probably shouldn't have taken the day off to go see Coheed and Cambria with my brother. Great fun as always and they played a lot of their old stuff! Cool to see giant rocker skeleton Blind Side Sonny - takes a lot to upstage Claudio Sanchez's hair!

Fleetwood Mac. Even now as an adult in dad's car it's Fleetwood Mac. He really likes Fleetwood Mac.

This. They claim to want English culture preserved but they can't tell you what the fuck it is because they're just spouting America-first bullshit with the nouns changed. Meanwhile Shakespeare is still read worldwide, our music is everywhere and most of the world speaks our language.
The obvious rot at the heart politics in the UK is British lord-of-the-manorism varnished with a thick layer of Americana.

The flag shagging, the cultic rallies, the culture wars radicalisation and polarisation—the most dangerous "invasion" on these shores isn't in small boats, it's Americanism.
