Enough is enough. Adelita Grijalva was elected on September 23. The people of Arizona have a right to be represented in Congress.

During today’s pro forma session, when the House is called to order I will seek unanimous consent to insist upon the swearing-in of Adelita Grijalva.

Adoption is an alternative to parenting, not to pregnancy.

Abortion is an alternative to pregnancy.

People need to understand the difference.

Pregnancy is not a health neutral state. It can cause serious harm.

No one should be forced to remain pregnant who doesn’t want to be.

If I Take A Bullet For My Child, How Will They Learn To Take Bullets Themselves?
Like every parent, I want my kids to be safe. I know that for my young daughter and son to grow and thrive, they need to feel secure in their surroundings. But with the way people coddle their children these days, I fear we’re raising a generation that won’t be able to handle life’s basic […]

1. Earlier this year, Trump erased transgender people from the Stonewall National Monument webpage, digitally burning the history we helped create.

Now, he's doing the same to bisexual people.

Getting stuck while we're writing is a feature, not a bug. It's the point of the exercise. It's what happens when we are trying to express something we have not expressed before. That friction forces us to make the tools we need to understand and express it. Getting stuck is how we make meaning.

People with pre-existing conditions are not expendable.

The vulnerable are not expendable.

The elderly are not expendable.

Children are not expendable.

The disabled are not expendable.

If we planned around protecting the most vulnerable in society, we would all be better off.

1. The Arizona legislature passed three anti-trans bills... but they did not become law.

That is because Governor Katie Hobbs has just vetoed all of them.

They would have barred birth certificate updates and banned colleges from mentioning gender identity.

Ultimately, I think one of the main reasons we tell women to respond to radicalized, misogynistic men with “empathy” is because it reinforces gender hierarchy.

It allows men to retain control and focus, while women are tasked (again) with managing their (and our own!) emotions.

If you think an autistic person is "dense" because they asked you clarifying questions, I hate to break it to you, but they needed to ask follow up questions because you didn't explain yourself well enough. Not because they have comprehension issues.

Hope that helps 🙃
