again, more than 40% of Cuomo's 2025 endorsers called on him to resign four years ago and I think it's incredibly important to recognize the breadth of cowardice from the current political class and the depth of courage of the women who stood up to him, like @lindseyboylan.bsky.social.
Former critics who once demanded Cuomo resign are now endorsing him
A POLITICO review of Cuomo’s touted endorsers found that few of them stood by him in 2021.

It is quite honestly breathtaking what a complete and utter fail Columbia’s total submission to Trump has been, for the university and academia at large.

They’re now the poster child for fascist takeover of academia and they have no easy way to back out and retroactively take a stand.

Pathetic.

I do think that the people still in denial about democratic freedoms being stripped are waiting for people LIKE THEM to be impacted for it to "really" count.

And therein lies what bred this era in the first place.

Think it’s important to highlight how everyday violence of the U.S. criminal legal system is making what ICE is doing possible: this man was convicted of a crime at *16*; he was *pardoned*; when ICE came decades later they claimed the conviction made him a felon w/ no recourse against deportation
Rodney Taylor is a beloved Georgia barber who came to the United States from Liberia with his mother when he was only two years old. He applied for citizenship but was denied. But this year, ICE arrested him, locked him up, and has scheduled him to be deported to a faraway country he's never known.
Recently engaged, beloved barber arrested by ICE | How his immigration story is questioning the system
Rodney Taylor, a Georgia barber, has been pursuing permanent residency for years. Now, he faces deportation to Liberia despite being in the U.S. since childhood.

A new McCarthy era is upon us. Stupid, depressing, and dangerous as ever. I wonder whose name will carry the dunce cap in the history books. Too many are complicit. I’ll need to find upset and action, but for now I’m feeling grief at the dehumanization inherent to all this.

If I were an academic librarian whose library was being blockaded...I would be out there supporting those students in whatever way I could. Good for them. We can't say we defend first amendment rights and are "superheroes for democracy" if we're working against our patrons.
NOW: NYU students have blockaded Bobst library with sleeping dragons calling for NYU to divest from death.

Per release, “We were promised disclosure. We will get disclosure. We will escalate for Gaza. NYU students
will not stop until our demands are met.”
