Toronto, 1945-1975, was shaped by highly interventionist planning.

It’s unfortunate that many people assume that the sprawl 1975-2000, which broke from that earlier tradition, is the right and natural way to build a city.
From the Metro Toronto Planning Board's 1959 draft Official Plan (voted down by Metro Council). You could not say something this obvious in Toronto's Official Plan anymore.

I really like a short on Amazon right now.

Betting on long term downside with the weekly short signal.
6% stop.

Call it wishful thinking for this abomination of a company.

Love Tony. Hate this ridiculous NDP leadership race fee.

Hoping he pulls through the next round.
NDP leadership hopeful @tonymcquailndp.bsky.social paused his fundraising efforts with one goal in mind:

Redirecting those donors so his competitor, @votetanille.bsky.social, could stay in the race.

It worked -- but Tanille refused to leave Tony behind.

The result? A wildly heartwarming story:

I’m with the 92% of Albertans—including farmers and rural landowners—that expect the oil & gas industry to clean up their spent wells and pipelines. When polluters pay, it creates decades of full-time work for oil & gas workers. So why do Conservatives let them get away with it?

The use of the Notwithstanding Clause is out of control. It’s up to voters to stop it
The architects of Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms thought the Notwithstanding Clause would only be used in exceptional circumstances. Conservative premiers seem determined to prove them wrong.

Maybe show this to Mark Carney.

Maybe not the time to force through more LNG infrastructure.
China is not buying US LNG. It is buying discounted Russian LNG. But still overall LNG imports for China are down quite a bit this year.

"China’s overall LNG imports by volume declined in October by 10.3 per cent, year on year, with the value slumping 27.5 per cent."
China buys Russian LNG at record-high levels, steep discounts as West retreats
Beijing capitalises on discounted energy, securing unprecedented Russian shipments in October while global sanctions reshape trade flows.

I’d like to save the Ford Government of Ontario $9 million dollars of the public’s money.

No, a 60km tunnel under highway 401 isn’t feasible.

In fact, it’s colossally stupid.

It’s possible that it’s all a distraction from the failure to properly invest in public transit.

You’re welcome.

Alternatives to feeding wild fish to farmed fish

Veramaris, a joint venture in the Netherlands and the United States, cultivated algae that produced the same omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil, and in quantities sufficient to replace billions of forage fish.
