Hi all! #Introduction
I’ve been gaming since the NES/SNES-era. I’m a fan of RPGs and Nintendo in particular.
Some favorites:
• Chrono Trigger
• EarthBound
• Super Metroid
• Breath of the Wild / Tears of the Kingdom
• Metroid Prime
• Final Fantasy VII
• Warcraft II
• Civilization II
• Star Fox

After beating Prime 4, I went back and played Prime 1 a little.
Two differences jumped out:
1. Levels are more room-based. A limitation of the GameCube, but it contributes greatly to the feel of the levels.
2. It strikes that creepy alien note much harder. Spooky, unexplained sounds, etc.

It’s a gorgeous, enjoyable Prime first-person adventure for the Switch 2 era.
The environments are beautiful and the boss battles are fun.
It does not have the complex yet satisfying labyrinthian levels of Prime 1/2 but is likely more approachable for new players.

I assume Metroid Prime 4: Beyond isn’t a contender for GOTY because it’s such an obvious shoo-in.

Oh hey, it was the 30th anniversary of the release of Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness yesterday! It's an important milestone game, especially for the further popularisation of RTS games and for mid-90s PC multiplayer gaming.
I have a lot of love for Warcraft II, mostly from the PS1 version.
