Bush-appointee Judge N.R. Smith dissents, arguing that Bruen established that states could not ban altogether, but could regulate the manner--they could ban open carry if they allowed concealed carry, or vice versa.

Bari Weiss just sent this Christmas Eve email to the CBS News staff about "building trust," which includes her tripling down on spiking the CECOT piece "to make sure it's comprehensive and fair."

One CBS staffer tells me: "She really has no idea how insulting she comes across."

But lower unfavorable, and more undecided.

Which is .. not good for Collins, because the easiest thing to do politically will be tie her to Kavanaugh (and by extension tie Planter to Kavanaugh since Planter voted for Collins in 2018) and from Kavanaugh to Trump.

Hope my pal @drensteppur.bsky.social doesn't mind me screenshotting this but I think it's THAT important to share.

Look, if you STILL think Dems made the wrong decision during the shutdown and weren't fighting for healthcare, you are just looking for a reason to be angry at this point.

Let it go

I'm sure that "down slightly" is absolutely how theyd describe a drop from the already low 42% to the abysmal 36% if the president in question was a Democrat
lol wut. dropping from 42 percent approval to 36 percent approval seems pretty significant. apnews.com/article/trum...

Like I said the other day, unaligned polls do not show the love for Nazis among the Democratic electorate that some Platner-allied media figures want.

I believe this is the first poll showing Janet Mills ahead of Graham Platner in the Democratic primary for #MESen (47%-37%).

They are also in a nearly-identical dead heat against Susan Collins, with Collins only mustering a weak 42-43% against both.

Poll: Janet Mills favored over Graham Platner in Maine 2026 Democratic US Senate primary
Mills and Platner are in a dead heat with the incumbent Republican they each hope to face next year, Sen. Susan Collins.

The GOP plan is to let premiums massively spike for 21 million Americans.

And then it gives them $1k per year ONLY IF they switch to bronze plans — which it also raises the cost of.

Awful awful plan that fucks over sick people.

Yeah, the dishonest part for me is the instance that people won't change their mind when they get the negatives because the negatives they say aren't how they're going to get framed by the opposition. Seems like basically leaking an internal to claim momentum.

I'll spare you the click: the poll was conducted by a firm with ties to Platner's campaign manager and also happens to have ties to David Sirota.

They're obviously trying to force Mills off the field by juking his numbers.
