It’s hilarious that Musk’s AI is now using its profound resource expenditure to claim he’s such a good father. Dads, with their long and troubled PR history, may truly never recover from this one.

The most compelling evidence that the rapture will happen on Tuesday/Wednesday is that I turn 34 on Thursday and God has heard all of my jokes about living longer than Jesus.

I keep a screenshot collection of bots who attempt to follow me on Instagram by parroting the photos of normal middle-aged men named George and Alan and Richard but make their bios things like “Good rising ☀️ Always positive 🙏🏻 Living life to the fullest 🙌🏻 Building wealth through bitcoin 🪙”
A weird thing about being online is you’ll get a notification that someone named “feral weirdo” follows you and you’ll go ah good a normal person, and then you’ll get a notification that someone named “Professor Thomas Smith” follows you and you’ll think oh no a weirdo

I’m not a TikTok person but love that politicians who crafted this brilliant ban were like, “We didn’t give the youth gun safety, healthcare, student debt relief, affordable housing, or a stable climate but if we get rid of their favorite app they’ll know that we have their best interest at heart.”

We have to keep doing this. We have to do this with books and films and games and any meaningful media. Recognize that it's skillfully crafted, recognize the meaning it has to you, and do the terrible math of weighing it against who created it and what they have done.

When you try to take away a monster's talent after finding out he's a monster, you are tacitly making a claim that enough talent can excuse monstrous behavior.
A month or so ago I saw a post by someone saying "we should all admit that Neil Gaiman has always been a shitty writer." That whole knee jerk revisionism. No, man, that's part of the whole horror. He's an internationally recognized writer. Objectively a good writer. But he's also a fucking monster.

I’m not one for burning books, but about halfway through this I started considering it. Strength and solace to his victims.

On the train and a man and a woman in separate rows just realized they went on a few dates three years ago. The number of dates is debated but she didn’t call him back. She remembers the food but not his name. His friends hoot with laughter. Her parents are here. The whole train car is enthralled.

Please pour one out for the DoorDasher who accepted my order of three heavy rolls of chilled dog food, the tiny fair trade baking chocolate pieces on the top shelf, the apparently nonexistent sesame oil, and a myriad of the most agonizingly specific vegan and specialty items the store sells. 🫡🍻

Made the mistake of putting On the Nature of Daylight in my liked songs and it jump scares me every time.
On the Nature of Daylight still sends me into full blown hysterics. It came up on the shuffle, and I thought I was safe. I was not safe.

My favorite ghost story podcast character is a bar manager who walked in on a ghost actually bartending and just hung out in his office until it was over. 1,000 paranormal phenomena happened but his complaint was that the ghosts made the LEDs burn out. An Everyman hero, king of minding his business.

A specific complaint I have about the place that I live is that it is a Young Professional town but not a Public University and/or Struggling Artist town, so everyone at this coffee shop is having a cute Sunday morning being cute while I (a gremlin) am prowling around their feet for an outlet.

Any A League of Their Own (2022) folks on here? I stress-baked some peach and frangipane hand pies in honor of the show and in the hopes that it will find a new home after Amazon’s crushing cancellation.
